  1. Thanks!
  2. Once you decide on a bike - spend the 350 odd ronds and get a bike fit - to make sure that you are set up correctly on the bike. Irrespective of how good the bike - if you are not set up correctly, you will suffer!
  3. Can you please post Le Tours number Wolfie!!

    supercycling

They need to do a total revamp of the show - last weeks one of the repeat interview of Armstrong really stunk! I now PVR it and ffwd to the interesting bits - Supercycling is now only about 15mins long....... I cannot believe that manufacturer's are unwilling to allow bikes for testing. On the whole I think that Supercycling is a very poor relative to Supergolf (which I used to watch in my pre-cycling days!).
  8. I have just subscribed to Pro-Cycling as I too am gatvol with the local mags. I have paid GBP135 for a 2 year subscription (26 issues - go figure even get a bonus mag each year), which roughly works out at R75 per issue including postage........This may look a lot, but I am saving the cover price of ride and bicycling most months (+- R55)
  9. The only time I could catch short legs was when nature called!
  10. A A great morning in Cape Town!! Mr Specialized (Western Cape)!!

  14. Cycles Direct had their first DC training ride this Sat Morning. The ride left the shop at 6.30 and the group headed up to Yzerfontein on the West Coast road, turning in and passing through Darling. The bunch split at the turning to Atlantis with most of the guys going back to the shop via Atlantis for about 130km with a few hardy souls riding through Durbanville to do about 160km. All in all a good morning's ride! Thanks to Craig Wicker for arranging the ride and Craig Brookstein for the support vehicle.
  15. I would like my Powertap to be Garmin enabled!!! Best of both worlds!!
  16. Well done Short Legs!!! Good luck with the PRO position and I know that you will be able to share your passion for cycling to a much wider audience...... So does that mean you wont have time to design new kit?
  17. so do you commute with them?
  18. The one good thing about the increase in 2009 prices, it may lead to some "proper" pricing of second hand goods. I have often felt like after you have bought a new bike/ parts from the bike shop they depreciate worse than a car! I bought a Battaglin in 2002 and have it insured for the cost of R12k. I will be lucky to get R3k for the bike now - so it hangs in my garage unused. I would hate to know how much I would be able to get for my Tarmac with Record that I bought last year!!!
  19. On the Epic one of the guys I was seconding had his clip for his handlebar mounting break. Went to the Garmin guys, they checked in a couple of boxes then said they didnt have spares. I got a feeling of indifference, as they said just use a screwdriver and sort it out after the Epic - This compared to the professional service offered by the Polar guys!!
  20. This was on Clipz last night - got me stoked while on the IDT!!!!
  21. "waar is die "brain technology" heen.... of was dit ook net n sales gimic......." Second picture from the bottom behind the FSR logo.......... Killeen rode the hardtail in 4th place not the new Epic.
  22. Kudo's to Thule - they make a damn fine product and seem nice guys too!!
  23. ROFLMFAO... My tat is something a bit more classy... Strenght and Honour down the spine... Is this an East Rand Tat????

    Doping

The 15 day rule is if a rider has any of the seven (I think) factors over their "normal" levels, the rider is banned from competition for a period of 15 days. Just seen this on cyclingnews.com UCI approves 'no start' rule The UCI's Management Committee announced Friday that it has approved the so-called 'no start' rule which will allow the organization to use data from the biological passport programme to keep riders with abnormal values out of competition for 15 days. The committee made the decision at its meeting in Snekkersten, Denmark. This type of rule has been applied in the past to the riders' haematocrit values, where a value over 50% would result in a temporary ban from competition. The biological passport has now been officially integrated into the UCI's Anti-Doping Rules, as was expected after the 'no start' proposal was announced last week. The 'no start' rule was devised as an first course of action before imposing a formal suspension, since a sanction "requires a greater degree of certainty." A value will be considered to be anomalous if it does not conform to previous values detected in the riders' samples.
