  1. Not really - I would be seriously pissed off if I had bought wheels from CWC for R22k and just a few weeks later they were discounted by R9k. If CWC did the right thing they should be like Nintendo who refunded customers who bought the 3DS just prior to the price drop. Price increases can be justified due to new stock arriving at increased landed cost - discounts knocking 40% off retail - a bit harder to justify....... It's like CWC running their specials on FB and this forum and not backing the product up with any level of sufficient stock. It should be stated on the ad's the quantities of stock that are available at that price. There is nothing like a wasted trip to the shop to look for a product that was advertised online 2 hours earlier only to be told that they are sold out. It's nothing like that at all - CWC should have insurance to cover this. If they are underinsured it's their own fault. This is a victimless crime. Personally I dont like CWC's practices as you don't know what is a grey import or what is backed by a local warrantee - If I want discounted product I would rather buy from CRC, Wiggle, R&A or Competitive Cyclist.
  2. Ouma goes to the doctor and asks his help to revive Oupa's sex drive. "What about trying the blue pill?" asks the doctor. "Not a chance," says Ouma. "He won't even take an aspirin for a headache." "No problem," replies the doctor. "Drop it into his coffee, he won't even taste it. Try it and come back in a week to let me know how you got on." A week later Ouma returns to the doctor and he inquires as to how things went. "Oh it was terrible, just terrible doctor." "What happened?" asks the doctor. "Well I did as you advised and slipped it in his coffee. The effect was immediate. Oupa jumped straight up, swept the cutlery off the table, at the same time ripping my clothes off and then proceeded to make passionate love to me on the tabletop. It was terrible." "What was terrible?" said the doctor, "was the sex not good?" "Oh no doctor, the sex was the best I've had in 25 years, but I'll never be able to show my face in Mugg & Bean again."
  3. I like watches (but not as much as bikes), so I have only collected a few.... 1. Seiko - got for my 21st (many years back) 2. Tag Kirium F1 bought in Aus in 1999 3. My current pride and joy - Chopard Mille Miglia GMT Chrono Speed Black 2 bought in the UK last year. 4. My bike watch (A Shimano XTR) - A gift this year from my LBS!!
  4. Get in touch with Gary from Cycles Direct 0215542128, they have MTB rides usually on both Sat (Table Mountain) and Sun morning (Contermans/ Meerendal) both of which are ridden to, so no issues with needing a car.
  5. Yep - The drinks bottle from Spez only comes in white, but fits the frame so nicely. The cabling is due to be altered along with the tribar extensions......
  6. My Bike for IM - still messing around with setup hence high bar position! methinks a set of 808 Firecrest Carbon Clinchers would make good race day wheels!
  7. Racing through the dark is a good read. Have downloaded One Way Road onto the Kindle but can't find my frikkin charger....... Bloody technology more frustrating than helpful sometimes!!!!
  8. I think that the change should have evolved as with the way most brands and logo's evolve over time. IMHO the loss of the "zebra stripes" in both the logo and on the jersey's has caused a loss of identity. Lets hope this becomes the GAP of SA and Mr Vermaak goes back to the drawing board..... The new leaders jersey looks terrible. Craft might be good technical wear but I think that they have got the design wrong. Imagine the Polka Dot jersey changing in the TDF because a new sponsor comes on board???
  9. How to correctly hold on in a moving train No, No, the older guy by the door!
  10. Heino - They also have a FB page (Cycles Direct Cycling Club) where there is information about rides etc.
  11. Slowbee - I have ordered a few PM when they arrive and I will collect - thanks for being a collection point!!
  12. Hey Slowbee - I've ordered a few too - Happy to share postage to CT!
  13. Two priests are off to the showers late one night. They undress and step into the showers before they realized that there is no soap. Father John says he has soap in his room and goes to get it, not bothering to dress. He grabs two bars of soap, one in each hand, while he is halfway down the hall when he sees three nuns heading his way.. Having no place to hide, he stands against the wall and freezes like he's a statue. The nuns stop and comment on how life-like he looks. The first nun suddenly reaches out and pulls on his manhood. Startled, he drops a bar of soap. "Oh look" says the first nun, "it's a soap dispenser". To test her theory the second nun also pulls on his manhood. Sure enough, he drops the second bar of soap. Now the third nun decides to have a go. She pulls once, then twice and three times but nothing happens. So she gives several more tugs, then yells... "Holy Mary, Mother of God, HAND LOTION TOO!
  14. Hahahahaha! You did? The best thing about age - it embellishes the memories!

    IMSA 2012

I have signed up for the full this year after doing the half last year - My aim is just to finish and have no expectations whatsoever! I just hope to enjoy the day (if possible). I am using the Tri Fuel 36 week program. This weekend did the Total Immersion swimming course so hopefully this will improve my swimming and not leave me feling knackered once I leave the water. I plan to do the half too, as I think that this will be great training.
  16. On stage/long races, every 3rd bottle I take rehidrate, a sachet in a 750ml bottle - you can barely taste it.
  17. Please dont mention that tw@ts name! Hope he gets his legs taken out tomorrow!!
  18. NCR Hijack - Thug - Did you see this today.....www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2027435/Liverpool-boss-Kenny-Dalglish-backs-latest-Hillsborough-campaign.html
  19. I did my first 1/2IM this year (which was my first triathlon too) and my plan on average was the following: 2.5hrs/week Swim, 5.5hrs Cycle and 3 Hrs Run. The important part is to remember to do at least 1 brick session per week. I didnt hit all training targets but I finished quite easily in 61/2hrs. My cycling was the strongest of the 3 disciplines and I have a fair idea of how I am going to reduce my time for next year.
  20. Frustrating.................Very Frustrating. Have been trying since 12pm. Eventualy website pops up with One or more ID's have been accepted for the race.......so dont know if I have got an entry or not!!!
  21. If Cav indeed has signed for Sky, expect personal fireworks coming from the team in 2012. I dont believe that the team could handle two "big" personalities in Wiggins and Cav. Sky will then either have to morph it's targets from riding for overall classification (Wiggins) to stages (Cav). Either way - it's going to be a very interesting transfer period with an influx of the HTC riders into the market.
  22. Cav was due to leave (or renegotiate his contract last year), when HTC unilaterally extended an option in his contract for a further year. I think that this left a sour taste in his mouth as he had initially been signed up quite cheaply. He probably decided a while ago that he would be leaving in 2012, hence the inability of HTC to secure sponsorship for next year. HTC would be a lot less commercially appealing without Cav.
  23. SWorks McLaren Venge. Nuff said.
  24. Errr nope - Have moved to new XTR and the brakes even after bedding in are nowhere near as good as my R1's.
  25. Must be Friday the 13th..... Got my dates mixed up on my calendar and got chivvied by my secretary to leave for my appointment today. Got a few surprised looks when I arrived and felt rather foolish when told it was only next week .....At least a dry run for next week so I know where to go!!
