  1. Also saw that, someone needs to help him
  2. Sheesh, I couldn't make up my mind what I thought of this cocky Jim character, but he is making it easier to decide as time goes by. https://twitter.com/runwithcuan/status/1128905231037865984
  3. https://www.brandzone.co.za/comrades/comrades-mens/mizuno-mens-heritage-zip-hoody-black.html So a few of the tops quickly got a Comrades logo added. Thanks Mizuno, but at just shy of a R1,000 for a top I think I will pass thanks.
  4. I only caught up to the new Garmin releases now. The new 245 and 245 music, with 24 hours battery life. (Wish I was due for my 230 upgrade...) https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/04/garmin-forerunner-245-music-gps-watch-in-depth-review.html And then the very nice upgrade on the 35, the new 45... https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/04/garmin-forerunner-45-45s-gps-watch-in-depth-review.html And then the 945 as well https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2019/04/garmin-forerunner-945-multisport-watch-in-depth-review.html
  5. Eish, is this it, this years Comrades apparel? Last years and then the new ones for this year all unbranded? https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2343568545707876&id=149288365135916
  6. 2020 it seems. I thought he might choose the down run! https://twitter.com/walmsleyruns/status/1125445417640927233 I still have a lot to learn but I will be ready to put everything into the process at Comrades some day. #Comrades2020 #NeedMoreCaution https://www.podiumrunner.com/hoka-project-carbon-x_177276?fbclid=IwAR2UMj704LHAkhBFbSWXAb3td_DjTWkttqYl9BWbJ3jDLxkmomb_60WX0gc Project Carbon X served Walmsley’s goal of racing Comrades and he used the road ultra to gain experience so that the famed South African race won’t “be total learning experience.”
  7. https://www.brucefordyce.com/post/we-borrow-world-records-but-we-keep-titles "I received the record from Don Ritchie and now, Jim, you have it. And you deserve it. Be warned, however, that here in South Africa we have a Zulu warrior called Bongmusa Mthembu, who could take 5 minutes off the record and, on his day, David Gatebe is capable of running even faster. When he won the 2016 Comrades marathon, David probably passed through 50 miles in 4:43 or so. Your new record is a magnificent addition to your CV, but there is one glaring omission from that CV - and that is a Comrades marathon title. Like Odysseus’s sirens, the race is calling you, beckoning from the province of Kwazulu-Natal. Come and race the most famous ultra of them all and test yourself against the best in the world. You will enjoy the whole amazing African adventure."
  8. Does that mean he won't participate at Berlin 2019, or that this sub2 attempt will be at Berlin...
  9. Have a look at the elevation gain as well. The Comrades down run has 4x the elevation gain of this run of Walmsley.
  10. Both those was Garmin connect yes. On strava it is 585m on the 230 and 607m on the 35 respectively. Talk about a ballsup.
  11. To the tech guys. Why would the elevation differ so hugely between two Garmins, both updated, on the same run. 50km. Forerunner 230 - 498m elevation, the Forerunner 35 - 656m?
  12. A few Mohair Belega socks on sale on their online website for R100...
  13. Not sure which is worse yes. It seems that Sabc is the worst of the two this time. "Pay your tv licence, it's the right thing to do" Hmmmm

  15. https://www.instagram.com/p/BwoJpzwhyaC/ There was some motivation to go fast...
  16. Gerda Steyn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jsS8dBdX1Q
  17. I love my Triumph's, very cushioned, but then I am no race snake. Only heard good feedback of Ride as well from owners.
  18. Heard on the news that thanks to ASA and SABC, we will not see Omtom being broadcast this year...
  19. This woman is the reason I went from couch to comrades in 365 days... It's really sad to see what she has been through the last two years, not even to mention the things that only she knows off and rightly so. https://www.instagram.com/p/BwIP3dsJtXQ/
  20. It will be close, but I might make the 1,000km since Jan ... right before Comrades... (And that will be 300-400 more than 2017 and 2018 )
  21. Per individual? IOW 80 (Initial) + 40 (Fitness assessment) + 120 (Additional active days) = 240, for myself and another 240 then for my wife? So where the "Be healthier" limit is 400 for a family, you can now potentially earn 400 + [(40 + 120) x 2] = 720 for the "Be healthier" section if I understand you guys correct?
  22. Do we know how many points you can earn additionally above the cap of 80 active days per member by this unlocking of more active days? Either by fitness assessment or by elite event? I cannot find numbers on this anywhere.
  23. Can anyone please explain how this "Unlock more points" that we have this year works, in plain English? I feel very blond at this moment...
  24. How does the quality seem? I trust Salomon will be the best, but I can't imagine that this is poor quality. Especially since I can get two for the price of the one Salomon.
