  1. Eish, some heat there between Rowan James and Gift/Coach Hamlett?
  2. Seems like Slomag is the go to one yes. My pharmacist recons his first choice before Slomag is the Ultimag btw, but they have been taken over and will only be available again in December. Thanks guys!
  3. We like our meat here in the states!
  4. Between my day to day stuff and getting running in I am dead tired for the most of this year already. I added slomag out of desperation since a week back after someone mentioned it to me and I am feeling a heck of a lot better. So whether it is all in the mind I don't know, but if magnesium is what us 40 odd year old men should add to our diets, what is the best/cheapest magnesium to add, apart from those that comes in real food?
  5. The old toppie (with his Oceans blue and Comrades green numbers) that got me into running is to this day still just running with his normal timing watch. He runs on time.
  6. So Naomi did this at UTMB. Amazing result! Naomi finished 120th overall, 15th female and 12th in her category. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?id=128445861124116&story_fbid=416236829011683
  7. I might end up with water in the bladder and hydration stuff in a bottle/soft flask. I see the Salomon Soft flask speed is out of stock everywhere it seems.
  8. I got my running vest last week, so I still have to add the bladder and or flasks. I'm going to try and use my Camelbak bladder in it first if possible just to make up my mind which route I'm going, but currently I am still set on the bladder. I just find it easy with the pipe, where I'm trying to imagine how it is going to work with two soft flasks and I cannot imagine it being easier.
  9. I had... A piece of KT tape on the inside of my foot with runs over 20km solved it. Both those pairs of 9's are still going strong, at 1,600 and 1,400 km respectively. I haven't had the rubbing since the 10's. For some reason I was not so fond of the 11's personally, but the 12's feels FANTASTIC so far! Do it !!! https://www.poobienaidoos.co.za/product/brooks-ghost-12-mens/
  10. https://www.aonijie.info/running-waistcoats I have the 5L Withwind one, if you need to fit in more jackets and stuff the 10L Wind Runner would be the choice. Detail review - https://trailmag.co.za/aonijie-withwind-5l-review/ There is also a few nice reviews on youtube. You can order direct or from Takelot. I get 25% discount on takelot, so it was a bargian.
  11. Two quick gear observations... The new Brooks Ghost 12's feels amazing thusfar, feels like the upgrade of 9 and 10 combination. I am not so fond of the 11's. Then this Aonijie hydration packs is serious value for money and really feels and looks the part!
  12. https://twitter.com/runcamille/status/1150870101215678464 There are currently no American ultra/trail athletes being out-of-competition (OOC) drug tested by @usantidoping . I would love to see @QUARTZprogram , @usatf , and @ITRA_trail direct funding towards OOC blood profiling and drug testing.
  13. Strava pulls mine from normal runs, not race runs.
  14. It does not "help" to do the tax tim or vehicle ass or elite event. It does not "unlock more points" It still falls under the 240 cap across the three categories. IOW if you do the tax tim for example you will get the 40 points, but then you will only be able to get 40 out of the 80 points for cashbacks. It will also cap you in other sections, for example if you have 80 points for cashbacks and get the 40 for tax tim, that is 120 under finance. Then you have your 80 safe days for example, that now gives you 120 + 80 = 200 points. Now you will only be able to earn 240 - 200 = 40 points in the active section, for active days or elite events. This unlock more points is the biggest misleading bullocks they have come up with yet. The only solution is to add more Momentum products and this is obviously the way they structured and prefer it! Never mind healthy clients, we rather have them sit on their asses and take out more products.
  15. I have started too late with my Ghost 11's for this year Comrades it seems, because I kept on getting a burning sensation under the front part of my foot. Nothing else, but only the front part right behind my toes. It was close to a blister on a 25km run. So with less than 100km on them I decided to rather go with my Ghost 10's to Comrades again. Something that my 10 and 9's did not take as long to run in, so it was strange to me. It seems better now with 110km on them, but I don't know if it is just me, but they feel softer than my 9's and 10's. It feels as if you feel the smallest of stones underneath your feet. If the 11's was not as good as the previous I will surely find it out in the months to come and hopefully the 12's is better then again. This is compared to my 10's that is on 634km now and two sets of 9's with 1,568km and 1,114km, of which both is nowhere near done yet!
  16. So JW is coming and so is CH again. I am however not sure she has the pace to keep up with Gerda, not currently anyways. Neither with Ann, but although Ann will be back it seems like it will not be next year. http://teamashworth.co.za/where-to-now/ Next yr I’m focusing solely on winning the Comrades downhill course. ⛰↘️ - It took a failed attempt at Comrades for me to know what the race means and what it takes to win. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bzbs4p4HaSr/
  17. Crazy!!! And Comrades 2020 is officially on. (From 7:50) https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=883&v=rSxhqHet3j0
  18. Not yet, only in a few months' time. Please give feedback when you get yours.
  19. On the Coros subject. This is some serious credentials... https://www.instagram.com/p/BzLIYEEBdCa/ coros_espNew Athlete Alert It is fitting that we introduce this week, Ian Sharman @sharmanian who has 9 consecutive top 10 finishes at Western States 100, and this weekend will be going for his 10th in a row. Ian is an ultra runner, coach and journalist with over 200 marathon and ultra finishes, of which he was victorious in over 50! He specializes in the 100-mile distance and is a 4 time winner of the Leadville Traill 100, and 3 time winner of the Rocky Raccoon 100. Originally from the UK, Ian now lives and trains in beautiful Bend, Oregon.
  20. This is what I was thinking, thanks for the info!
  21. Thanks, I've seen them. Unfortunately they still don't come close to the price of the Aonijie. I get those Takelot prices -25% as well.
  22. I know it is relative and I guess I should go and fit them to see for myself, but what is the most popular/best size running backpacks to go for? I guess mostly will just be water, phone, nutrition, but there will be the odd race where there needs to go an extra jacket or so in aswell. https://www.takealot.com/aonijie-withwind-5l-waistcoat/PLID52292622 https://www.takealot.com/aonijie-6l-waistcoat-in-blue/PLID45065386 https://www.takealot.com/aonijie-windrunner-10l-size-m-l/PLID52292615
