  2. For interest sake. Has anyone tried Hoka's? I see they are available here. Is there substance to the big hype around them ore is it just an American thing again?
  3. Adidas would be a good bet if it works for you. The only other I can comment on is I really enjoy my Brooks Ghosts now and the 10's coming seems to be even better. Perhaps the Brooks Lauch 4? Or the Saucony Ride 10. You have nothing to loose to look at everything.
  4. Supernova is neutral, Gt1000 is light stability.
  5. Yup, I can also get them for R960 hehe. Unfortunately they don't have the 0.5 sizes that I would need. Everybody I spoke with loves them. They are however still a bit too narrow for my liking, although they are wider than the previous generation.
  6. And some ladies Adidas Supernova bargains... https://sport.takealot.com/sport-women-s-adidas-supernova-glide-9-running-shoes/PLID44185743
  7. You guys still looking for the 18 Nimbus, perhaps a bargain for someone here? https://www.takealot.com/all?qsearch=asics+nimbus&_sb=1&_dt=all&_r=1

  10. Yup, my wife's just dissapeared in less than a month a think. Ridiculous.
  11. I am not a fan of cutting or removing things that was there from birth for a reason normally (not saying it's the case in this instance) What does this itb operations consist of, what do they do?
  12. Now I'm worried. Ok, more like gatvol to be honest. So since my Itb flared up in Omtom, I took it easy, 3 weeks of nothing and a serious physio bill. That helped that I didn't feel my itb (or whatever this knee issue is) after 4 kms, but only after 7kms. Come Comrades I felt it from 7 and by 20 it was buggered for the rest of the day. Way worse than it was after omtom obviously as well. Since Comrades we only did a 5 and 10km after two weeks. Both these runs I felt it before 1km and it was as bad as it was at the end of Comrades. Then I also got a bad flu. So from then until now I once again did absolutely nothing. I took a single dose antibiotics last week and tonight I just wanted to check the HR before Rhodes this weekend. Once again, within 1km I felt my knee. So after 5 weeks of doing ZIP, and drinking anti inflamatories as well, there was absolutely no improvement whatsoever, rather worse... So first of all I can guess what the 52km mountain trail of this weekend is going to do to it. Secondly I have no idea and hope of what to do with this from here on further. Now that we have to start training again. ????
  13. That's the thing, I want to test Garmin vs the official... BTW, my garmin said 1,915 and that same garmin file pulled into Strava said 1,802...
  14. My google skills are letting me down. What is the official elevation gains of the Comrades up run and the down run respectively?
  15. R420? It's the same as Comrades. Yeah, the entries are nothing, especially since you get shirts for starters as well. Except trail races, their entries are ludicrous... Accomodation and the travelling to omtom and comrades specifically are the heavy factors in my budget for them. If I make a calc of all the races per year and save that monthly, it is a pretty scary amount... Investment in health and memories hey...
  16. Looking at the budget and making a few calculations for entries, travel and accommodation coming up, there is only one conclusion.. These races, specifically Omtom and Comrades, costs a heck of a lot of money....
  17. Keep at it and stick with the dedication. Next year this time, you will not believe yourself if you try and remind you how much you suffered now!
  18. https://www.outsideonline.com/2192536/performance-enhancer-ultrarunner-jim-walmsley?platform=hootsuite Interesting...
  19. And Im damm sick for the last 10 days, as in BAD. So Im really just trying to get rid of this sore chest and nose im time. Then we will line up with only a VERY relaxed 5 and 10 since Comrades...
  20. https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/first-ascent-mns-p3-tights Not my favorite shop, but they are on special now. Cheapest I have seen them was R650 and that was end of last year.
  21. This. And currently we are very happy with our plain NB 910 cheapies thusfar!
  22. What calculator/formulas did you use? I see there is thousands out there
  23. Dumb question, but I think I am over looking something. My wife switched over from her Garmin FR15 to her new FR230. Where our calories burned was always close to each other, she now is burning less than 2/3's of mine on the same run. I checked that her personal info is correct, what else is there that determines this and makes such a difference now on the new watch? Can it perhaps be the Max HR? But as far as I know this is also generated by the garmin itself?
