  1. It was such a joy to train in the George region over the Dec holidays. The roads were so clean and the number of times I had to avoid glass on the road I can count on my one hand. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the amount of times I have to dodge glass on one ride in Pretoria. And everyone was patient towards us. Must be the extra oxygen at sea level.
  2. Seems it is already available. Check out the Chinese Carbon Tread: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/125808-chinese-carbon-thread/page__st__1184 Page 75 post 1194
  3. I have been a MTB'er all my life but have started doing road cycling to save on maintenance etc. I have soon realised the bigger someone's paycheck the more that person thinks the road belongs to them. They have no patience toward fellow road users. Honestly I feel safer riding around a township than riding through Pretoria East.
  4. A cycle lane will be a nice place for car users to through their beer bottles. In the end the cyclists will use the road anyway as mentioned about Cape Town cyclists.
  5. K-Force would match your seat post but Dura Ace would match the wheels.................Choices
  6. Have the K-Force on my bike. Very happy with it. Only problem I had was that the crank arm came lose twice but after I stopped at LBS they tightened it for me I never had the problem again. I have never used the Dura Ace so can't comment on them.
  7. I will buy a 2nd hand one in about 4years time IF it's in my price range by then
  8. True
  9. I think they are universal. You should not have any problems.
  10. Hehe. Maybe you're thinking about Rotor Chain Blades. If that is the case then yes you MIGHT need to add a link but that will depend on how much bigger you go. But then again you should never ride your bike on the big blade and big cog. That will put unnecessary strain on the chain.
  11. As far as I know you get the following rotor sizes: 140,160,170,180 and 200mm The bigger sizes are more common among the DH and Freeride bikes. Smaller sizes are common among rear brakes where frame space might be a factor. But if you stay with the same size rotor you should not have any problems. If you find that the disc does not fit between the brake pads then you need to separate them by pushing them apart gently. Fit the wheel and then pump the brake lever a few times. That should sort you out.
  12. Yes. You can use a bigger rotor as well but then you will need a different adaptor for your calliper. Also check if the disc is a centre locking disc or 6 bolt.
  13. Yes you can. As long as they are the same diameter/size.
  14. The hub will crash with boredom
  15. QR= Quick Release TA= Through Axle Also check if the rotor is center locking or bolted to the hub.
  16. I never flamed the seller. In fact I never said a word to the seller. Not here or on his ad. I merely said in my second post on pg 1 that the product might be fake.
  17. If these twats kept their mouths shut and they were indeed fake and someone bought them, what vulgar name would you have called us then? Can we ask these type of questions on the hub or must we just give the seller the benefit of the doubt? Pretty soon people will abuse this and sell all types of fakes on the hub. If we are not allowed to ask these questions then I suppose people will have to ask Ritchy themselves who will reply: Unfortunately we cannot determine from a picture if the product in question is a counterfeit product. Please send us the product and we will advise accordingly. So it was "proven" that they are real. Sorry for giving my "EXPERT" opinion. Here is some more of my "EXPERT" opinion: I think the bar is overpriced. R750 for a carbon bar that is 7-8 years old is to much. That 2013 model bar brand new at CRC for R1814. Let's say R2086 landed price. Even though the bar looks good we will never know how it was ridden and or if the clamps were over tightened and the carbon damaged.
  18. I open the link and the first thing I read is: How to: Differentiate real from fake breasts. Who cares? Its money well spent!
  19. They make them pretty good. See link: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-RITCHEY-WCS-full-carbon-fibre-3K-bike-Handlebar-MTB-bicycle-bar-flat-Handlebars-580/1455375726.html But I do think the top one might be fake because as far as I know Ritchey Carbon uses a UD carbon and not 3k carbon as in the picture.
  20. Just buy new ones from a reputable dealer. Stop being such a bargain hunter
  21. I once saw one of our employees through rubbish of the back of our company vehicle. I stopped next to the road asked him why he did that and he gave me the same answer whilst the rest of the workers had a grin on their faces. Made him pick up his rubbish and made all the other guys also pick up someone else's junk and then asked them how it felt to pick up other peoples rubbish. IT NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN!
  22. Hmmmm. Time to get disc brakes, then you could have cycled home :whistling: :whistling: Glad you're ok
  23. Not being able to locate a dustbin is no excuse to litter like that. If they were able to bring it there, they should be able to take it with them and trough it away. Disgusting that people have such a mentality!
  24. I have honestly never heard of William or any of his achievements before. That is why I asked if anyone can enter. I see he rides a Specialized bike as well. I can't imagine that anyone that lives in Diepsloot x6 can afford such a bike thus he must be a sponsored rider and to get a sponsor and represent your country you need to perform right?
  25. I see SA is hosting round 1 of the Wold Champs next year. 5-6 April.
