  1. I suggest you get a chainstay guard/protector to protect that nice frame from nasty chain slaps out on the trail. Or if you have an old tube, wrap that around the frame and cable tie it.
  2. Funny that these are the type of drivers that are very groot bek and will stop and argue with you but when they actually hit/kill you with their car they won't stop. Probably because they know that their argument that we don't belong on the roads won't stand in court. Glad you're ok.
  3. Its spring time! Why not start it off with a quick swim at VG. Just take some extra chain lube for afterwards.
  4. Thanks. Want to have a nice slow warmup before the race and dont want to be stuck in traffic 15min before the the batch starts.
  5. Jip. Had the same problem this morning. Was fixed a bit later on though.
  6. Is that section as steep as it looks on the pic?
  7. Dont make jokes. The last time I rode with a friend that just got her cleats, I had to visit the hospital to get my chin patched
  8. Can we now name and fame the hubber?
  9. Sjo, die Vrystaat het mooi dames. Net jammer hulle skree Cheetahs
  10. Already posted on the hub. Here is link to other tread https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/130648-giraffe-targets-bike-groenkloof/page__st__16?do=findComment&comment=2050799
  11. How bad is the traffic close to the venue on race day?
  12. Respect the laws of nature. Wild animals stay wild. This looks like a classic case of wow look at the Giraffe, lets get a great picture...........and then it goes wrong. Clearly the Giraffe was there first and its not like it could have hidden behind the tree. Cyclist should have stopped way before he got there and waited for it to move. From the picture it looks like he was so close that he could touch his arse. Must have been a male Giraffe Unfortunatey we have become accustomed to how tame the animals have become in Groenkloof but we must still treat them as wild. We must not start aggravating the animals, they might just start becoming hostile and its not just cyclist using those trails. A lot of hikers, trail runners and parents with small children using them. It could end a lot worse for someone else.
  13. Sjo Rode there on Saturday. Same trail I was on by the looks of it.
  14. eblockwatch is his name on the hub. Here is the link to his profile. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum/user/15682-eblockwatch/
  15. Report to these guys. They seem to follow up on cases. http://www.eblockwatch.co.za/ One of the member (Owners) is also a hub member but I cant seem to remember his name.
  16. Maybe if I buy one I will be able to do a manual wheelie
  17. It looks like it makes frequency bounce off you................ his could be a problem when the phone rings.
  18. Awesome bike My first bike was a XR200R 1982 model. 3 years older than me. Still enjoyed it more than my YZ250
  19. True. And I am quite guilty in that area as well because I dont know much about bike geometry and how it affects my riding. Regarding geometry, I just get on the bike and if its comfortable its sold.
  20. Hmmm. So from the review the 26'' wheel has the least weight, best acceleration, least flex (in frame and wheel) where the 29er takes rollover and traction and the 27.5'' is just the compromise between the two. Yet everyone goes for the more expensive 29er these days. I do however think that our type of terrain here in SA makes the 29er the "better choice". I love my 26er though.
  21. Then bring on the challenge!
  22. Think the kloof will be great. Something different! Just hope there will be no bottlenecks. Especially if there will be a floating bridge involved. That pond looks quite deep and the water early in Sept will not be that hot.
  23. How much is the entry fee? I am so tempted R361 maybe?
  24. Looks AWESOME!!!
  25. Probably because your legs aren't used to that distance. That is why my training rides are longer than my race distance. Can also be that you did not eat correctly. How long did the ride take you and did you eat anything during the ride like a banana or energy bar?
