  1. the biggest challenge for me is the pacing of the race in general by that i mean over the entire distance, what pace do we start with do you factor in fatigue at the end and make up time in the start, what pace to ride the various hills, are there sections where we will recover, the experienced guys will have alot of controlling and talking to do in the race to keep us in check
  2. ja thats true about only 11 people going sub 3 but i doubt all 11 were working together, so we stand a very good chance then of doing sub 3 since we planning from the start to all work together
  3. at this rate i reckon wel win this race outright, hey whose our designated sprinter?
  4. ja something seriously wrong with that time my best half was 1:34 at johnson crane half this year, my life goal is to try and break 1:30 in a half which il try at johnson crane next year.
  5. going for my 3rd, goal this year is sub 10 im not fast and wont manage as much mileage as most of you guys, will do the slowmag ultra and one other marathon race but the rest is just long sunday runs on my own about 30km, with a long cycle on a saturday.
  6. strider, and then take him to the events they have, he'l love it, the skills and confidence they learn on those bmx tracks is amazing to watch.
  7. Alone, on history channel is awesome,
  8. I feel mtn are going to the front from too far out and then sit with no riders left to take him to the line, he clearly is in great form and with a proper lead out train he can do even better but they leave him with too much to do too far out . he should position himself off another team as the other riders sometimes do.
  9. I love doing this same stunt to girls except I don't use a bike and I only use my hands
  10. ja , but maybe team time trial, riders with same bikes automatically become a team, or sort them out out according to weight, age, area, brand of shoes wheels kit stem.....possibilities are endless!
  11. since the race is only 47km, they should have made it a time trial
  12. anyone here using a mag250 box thingy? how it works and how much it costs, met someone who said they replaced dstv with it and are very happy, but I cant find much info on it, they went with this option because of sport
  13. needed my powertap battery changed urgently one day and shaun waited for me till 17:30. I agree excellent service from them.
  14. I think a tri bike is still faster on that route. I say leave them on
  15. what about the sprinters? I would think they would easily manage on a time trials which usually flat and short distance, I can only think it affects their cadence maybe?
  16. interesting indeed would love to hear the science behind but I also wonder why don't all the really big muscles strong riders do it then.
  17. that's unfortunate but manageable, however I demand they change the wind direction next year
  18. read somewhere that he does this so that he can keep his chain straight in the middle of his cassette and not have to go to the smallest gears at the back when other are at the smallest, don't know if its true or how much of a difference it makes.
  19. I wish/pray/hope they subsidise the entry fee, like spec-savers
  20. sometimes the problem could be the seat or its position and even setup which can cause saddle sores so maybe check that out too, I suffered terribly with them but now the sit bones are conditioned and I don't get them anymore. good luck
  21. he is ultimately responsible, im not saying that he should have tested the capsules, he should have a pharmacy who understands the severity of cross contamination in his situation, he trusted the pharmacy anybody would and it almost cost him his career, I wonder if there are pharmacy guidelines and laws regarding disinfecting surfaces and cleaning areas in between patients? because at this pharmacy you could go buy a simple panado and get it coated in every other drug.
  22. pro's need to be much more careful, if I was a pro I would have certain doctors, pharmacists, nutritionist, dietician, mechanic, girlfriend, physio, restaurant ..............etc who understand exactly how important and delicate I have to be with the things I use and consume and what is at stake if I get it wrong, and i wouldn't go to anyone else or use anyone else services other than those I chose and who understand.
  23. I didn't mean that there is double standards, I wa trying tos say imagine if BS or any athlete used another story like what I wrote would he have got off? are we now at a point where if something is found be it a PED or a masking which is both banned, one may use another person to take the fall for you and take responsibility for what is in your body, saids is opening themselves to a difficult and dangerous path, at the end of the day the athlete and athlete alone should be responsible for what is in there bodies, they pro's cant they have a doctor and pharmacist who understands the severity and implications of cross contamination.
  24. ja I reckon she went too far with that tweet particular one however still valid argument in her other tweets, whoever tests positive can now just provide proof that they did not intentionally take the banned drug knowingly and get off, this logic would have cleared contador if he was tried in south Africa, the athlete is no lonmger responsible for what enters his body, BS could get the receptionist at his doctor to say that she was carrying some testosterone intended for another patient when she accidently slipped and spilt some in BS coffee, would that have cleared him, this example is exaggerated but im trying to get my point across and this story wouldn't have been any less or more believable than the pharmacist story.
  25. im no fan of BS and was a big fan of DI, lets be honest she has a point in her tweets, it doesn't matter how any banned got into your body, from saids side all that should be important is wheather there is banned substances or not in an athletes body, I don't buy DI pharmacist storey at all. now anyone can take the fall for an athlete.
