  1. stained and in use. Happy wife, happy life
  2. so what events have you got lined up for the rest of the year. what are you currently training for? I see bela bela is sold out!
  3. not close to what some of you are doing, but busy with this out of recycled pallet wood
  4. very nice work !
  5. so I have not done any training the last almost 2 weeks due to a cold and now a dodgy knee. Very frustrating to say the least. at least got my first ever road bike, and did a 30min idt session last night!!!
  6. also looking at the midlands as an option!!
  7. nice!!!
  8. also depends on your background. if you are a runner, focus on the other 2 etc. for me the biggest thing currently is the swim, but I think as you do the longer events, the run seems to be the killer.
  9. the miway sun city was my first attempt at tri this year. I did the sprint, damn, but I was longing for a wetsuit that early Sunday morning!!!! I was only there in my little running tights and goose bumps. almost felt like drowning, as this was my first open water swim, and a bit under prepared. The swim also ended up being about 200m longer than indicated. Just glad I did not drown. I just bought my first ever road bike, should probably arrive tomorrow or Friday, and then to start saving up again for a wetsuit. Luckily and unlucky, I don't have nice indoor facilities to continue swimming during winter, so now only working on the running and cycling, building up some miles. good luck with bela bela. I think I will have a look at the rockman in December as my next event!!
  10. Jeez now I feel your excitement!!!! Renier, you can rent a wetsuit, or buy one should you have the ability. Also not needed for a tri suit immediately, did my first sprint this year in running tights without shammy and a cycling shirt for the cycle and run!
  11. yip, that far away from nearest help, eliminating the snake is your best option!!!
  12. swimming is also a area of improvement for me. Only started earlier this year. the breathing is a mission to get right. now I have to wait for summer again to start all over. all the best.
  13. Hehe good friend you are..... thx
  14. Hi, Any of you guys have or use one of those Dremel multi accessory tools. Not specific to woodwork, but looks like a handy tool to have. any feedback would be cool. thx
  15. thx man. Will try to better the time again and see what it does. cheers
  16. hi, thx. I have run previously with watch, which captured the PB that comes on the screen to show 5km or 10km or half. but now I improved those times, but the watch does not update. There is a option to delete previous records, but I was under the impression that the watch will automatically update this.
  17. have a look here... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/159653-what-constitutes-a-wetsuit/?hl=wetsuit
  18. Hi guys, please assist. my fenix 3 have failed to show new PB's that was set while running for 5 & 10km. it does show on my strava that it is PB, but not updating on the watch under stats, records. any way to fix? thx
  19. Wow. love the angle.
  20. very very nice!
  21. thx for all the comments so far with regards to tri shoes. I think I am still a far way from pulling a flying mount without flying face first to the ground. I do get the point about running barefoot during transition points, thx.
  22. thx banna, I have the same look pedals on both my SS and MTB, so easy with only one pair of shoes! I am looking at my first road bike now, so was wondering if I need to go through new shoes and pedals exercise, or can I just swap some pedals around.
  23. Hi, Can someone please explain the differences between normal road shoes and tri shoes for cycling. Pro's & Con's is it worth buying another pair of shoes (average athlete) Thx
  24. Never Was just wondering?
