  1. The one vid I watched, he's going on about winning is the only thing and once you've tasted it, its all you chase, haha. While the rampage event has the complete opposite mindset. Best was how Kyle and Zink talked strategies and Kyle radio'ing zInk, telling him how the drop was.
  2. I thoroughly enjoyed it! except for the staying up till 2am to see if the wind will die down, luckily I only have class at 1400. Lacondeguy was awesome, like his spirit, but Kelly McGarry and Wil White made it for me. That Zink backflip was insane, was sort of rooting that he doesn't get a 2nd chance, with baby on the way, haha. Pitty Semunuk couldn't get it going, maybe because he's to serious,
  3. Liewe ouers, dit gaan mal wees.... Hoop hy land dit, crashes nie so entertaining, soos om iets huge ge"land" te sien!!!
  4. Also got me a FF recently...but only because now i have bit more brains to protect than when I was 18, haha. got me a Urge one 2nd hand (but not used) and very happy with it. Was never a fan of pads. Edit: They are bloody hot in summer, so you'll only wear then going down, up, the helmet will be over bars or on backpack. So if you need all round protection, a AM/enduro helmet will be better.
  5. iJoh! Doerfling eerste ou van die Oakley sender af, http://www.redbull.c...doerfling-crash
  6. Dont think I can still swing my leg high enough to get over half the bikes in the thread, haha Here's my mine, rides like I want it... and after all the odd bits, still seem to have colour scheme going (not intentional)
  7. No... there not much difference between gearboxes and derailleurs, why would you give it own category?? Remember, its just a method to change gears, not a help-my-trap with a motor. Its like saying Sram bikes should compete separately from shimano bikes.
  8. goedkoop koop, is duur koop....
  9. Oh, and I think Spez is lame
  10. Check out Diald bikes; some nice bikes and their local. All these under R35k and all of them excellent bikes http://dialdbikes.co...mountain-bikes/ http://dialdbikes.co.za/images/detailed/1/FOXY_1_foto_.jpg http://dialdbikes.co.za/images/detailed/0/nukeproof-mega-tr-rockshox-monarch-rt3-silver-medium-2013-5153-p.jpg http://dialdbikes.co.za/images/detailed/1/Meta_AM_2_2012.jpg http://dialdbikes.co.za/images/detailed/1/Commencal_Meta_AM_3_20121.jpg
  11. Not sure, know they are local guys, 1st time I ordered from them was 2003, haha EDIT: R80 flatrate, free for over R750 or collection
  12. Cut to your size, 365mm in total (R120): https://bmxdirect.net/product/fly-sergio-grip/
  13. I want Andreau Lacondeguy to to podium, know he's more jump, but, damn he can go big and his tricks are insanely extendted
  14. That is to cluttered, haha With gearboxes it should look slim and stream line like this. When Nicolai makes the 6' travel version of this, im in. This to me is the best design look for me. http://fcdn.mtbr.com/attachments/nicolai/825641d1377087511-nicolai-2014-product-range-ion-20-effi.jpg http://fcdn.mtbr.com/attachments/nicolai/825639d1377087452-nicolai-2014-product-range-argon-am.jpg http://fcdn.mtbr.com/attachments/nicolai/825640d1377087475-nicolai-2014-product-range-argon-tr.jpg
  15. For R3500 you can get decent bike 2nd hand, R3500 for that merida is not that good deal. Had a look at its specs, would get better than that 2nd hand. My brother sold his morewood kwela, with Fox shock, sram x9 and AMC tubeless wheels for R4000. Main thing with second hand market is to wait, for the good deals. especially in the 26" wheels segment. 21" bike will be to big. As for EFT, I keep it to hub members, gumtree is a bit of a gamble and postage on complete bike is round R600, which could be used for getting better bike.
  16. Had a gearbox bike.. was awesome, no maintenance. Rearwheel removal easier on frame mounted gearbox, same as singlespeed. And not that heavy, remember you're losing a cluster. Also the frame mounted box distributes weight more evenly, making wheels even lighter! Once I've saved enough, Im definitely going gearbox again (on a Nicolai).
  17. Check their Facebook page, dont think their website up yet. Ja, some sweet carbon rims. Looks like the frames are designed by them, not just some generic china carbon with fancy stickers. https://www.facebook.com/FaktoryBikes?fref=ts
  18. Them you must have a look at the mountainbike SIngleSpeed thread;) i also like putting personal touches on bike, SS is perfect for that!
  19. Dont think an upgrade in front suspension would be the wisest choice, save the money and ride it till it breaks. Buy a decent complete 2nd hand bike (or maybe at that time you want new bike, if the bug has bitten hard), after time spent riding, you will know what to look for. Proper 26" bike can be found from R5000 in classifieds, while a shock would set you back round R2000.
  20. Think some people are to scared to move back to 26'ers, because then they have to admit they were wrong and spent a lot more on their bigger wheels than they should But I really dont care, just like posting pics:) Here is a pretty 29'er DH bike, when you have long downhill jeep sections in your downhill run. http://29ermountainbikereviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/mountain-bike-downhillspy-shots--intense-cycles-prototype-29er-downhill-mountain-bike-vujmvssn.jpg
  21. Just to add some colour to the thread threads without pictures is no fun http://i.qkme.me/35njax.jpg http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/300x300/38670103.jpg http://i.qkme.me/3patap.jpg
  22. If my bike was rolling at the age of 15, It was a good day Luckily I only had a choice between a 20" bmx and a 26" "custom jobbie"... and only one worked at a time, haha bigger wheels is not going to make you faster, maybe just give you more street cred to the scott-merida-spez sheep, lol
  23. think somewhere on Hub is a discussion on this, but don't know if it was wiped out with the "Great Crash". Maybe do a search
  24. Maybe I also have a few missing, haha, thanks for correction:) Atleast some F1 to keep me busy this sunday! Those European guys are ultra smooth, but are the as crazy as those British and their "colony", The american states of america. Think the Bear Claw still has something to prove, so def keeping eyes on his run!
