  1. This Sunday is rampage time (my favorite event to watch). Any predictions? List of riders: http://www.redbull.com/en/bike/events/1331580418791/red-bull-rampage/athletes http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb10136014/p5pb10136014.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb8755370/p5pb8755370.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb8746975/p5pb8746975.jpg http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb8760261/p5pb8760261.jpg
  2. Why havent I heard of these local guys... and I live in Stellenbosch, so they close-by. Looks good. Faktory Bikes All Mountain bike: Our 27,5" wheeled, full suspension, 150mm travel, mountain bike, is light (2.22kgs or 4.9 pounds for the 18" medium frame), capable and modern. Accommodating all the latest standards, like a Tapered steerer to a 142 x 12mm rear axle to internal cable routing. Geometry, and wow, how do we like it... 67 degree head angle, 72.5 degree seat tube angle and seat stays at just 438mm(centre of bb to centre of hub).
  3. Ragley, the other two brands are mainstream and everyone on every corner has one.
  4. let me know when you ride, ill join up, although i push uphill, those ups kill me, it just has to look like an incline and im pushing, haha. I live 500m from the gate, so its my daily routine, Hit Eden, move over to g-spot, do few runs there and ride back home.
  5. Kids don't need brakes , only reason why Disc wouldve been nice for me as kid was those buckles. but its summer now, so no wet weather for a while and by the time the winter is here again, he/she might be big enough for 26'er
  6. Eden(Just across from G-spot)used to be good, with atleast 4 trails running top to bottom, but felling of trees makes it bit tough there at the moment. Had some nice Rockgardens on the old DH track after the patch-up Jonkers also long Singletrack and a DH haven't seen any roots or drops in G-spot though, the builder(singular) keeps it ultra smooth
  7. Tell me about it, CRC becoming very expensive quickly, haha. But dont see it stopping until we are at R20 a pound:/
  8. Carbine Updates for 2014: ISCG MOUNTS, MOLDED CARBON DIRECT-MOUNT FRONT DERAILLEUR, INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING FOR RS STEALTH DROPPER POST, 3 BUILD OPTIONS FOR COMPLETE BIKES BOLD, NEW GRAPHICS
  9. I build my own, except for BB insertion and headset. Other than that, the rest goes fast. Most bike shops dont sell singlespeeds from the floor, but import an OnOne frame and let them build it, would still be an awesome build and you can just do the "Bling" yourself. eg. Saddle,Grips,Handlebars etc. My fishing (and visits to Sealine) has almost completely stopped since I started riding bike again. Fishing takes a whole weekend, while biking sorts me out in a morning or afternoon, without the fishead smell, haha Have A Gold Trini30 in my closet freshly spooled with PowerPro and replaced Carbotex washers for last season, but yet to see some Toothies again, haha
  10. Do you want to design, build and weld the frame itself, or just adding the parts, part of building?
  11. You know you must remove the brakes to be cool;)
  12. See they've got there own thing going with reducer, @$70 no to bad I guess: http://www.cannondaleexperts.com/Cannondale-Reducer-Headset--SIHeadshok-to-1-18_p_304.html
  13. If its a normal 1.5" to 1 1/8" steerer shock, its easy. I have reducer in my bike, nothing fancy about it, also not very expensive. Start from around R300 up to wherever expensive headsets, like ChrisKing go.
  14. I had tubeless with shrader, not a single problem. Benefit, when you need to "bomb" them, you can just go to the garage and use their pumps, instead of getting an adapter or using expensive bomb I say, stick with schrader
  15. nice to watch, thanks for upload. They seem a lot less wreckless than the normal roadies on the road, at least these guys are aware of traffic the whole time, which some people forget to do.
  16. One of the nicest coloured frames I've seen, especially with brown saddle and gold
  17. Completely possible... but the "Enduro" definition so wide, it includes bikes from a mere 100mm - 180mm+ travel, not to mention all the lockout and gear options available. These are really do-it all bikes, but some will be easier to pedal long distances than others. Eg. Jeff's 29'er trance
  18. 19. Damn, They got it, before the Scott 29'er giraffe crew got to take some awesome pics with it.
  20. And they have this guy: http://www.on-one.co.uk/files/oo/blogs/original/1NTL3S6K-photojpgscaled1000.jpg
  21. Open Mold Frames An “open mold frame” is a mold which the factory owns. They can sell that frame to anyone they choose. The brands who buy these open mold frames don’t own or control the design, engineering, or material selection for the products they’re marketing. Generally, they specify the paint and logos. You’ll see some of the smaller brands with identical frames from one to the next. This is often what you’ll be getting when you select an inexpensive carbon frame or component. These might be perfectly good, and they might not be. You just don’t know. Many name-brands will purchase the molds they use and own them. That is the brand’s IP and the factory cannot sell that frame to anyone else On one build some of the sweetest Steel bikes (Carbon aswell, but thats not why we like 'em)

  23. Haha, some lycra also gives better movement for an even bigger hop
  24. makes sense now, don't think the bars are that wide then, compared to bike. Nice looking bike, never seen one in real life.
