  1. think you wanted to say .... age - 18 - 25ish and yes please.
  2. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=64144 look here
  3. U can prob use whatever U please. No reason why not- from my point of view. If your not too heavy and not doing to much crazy downhill bumpy rides then it should be fine. I mean you can go full carbon also if you want to...
  4. I think if you have a competitive personality its not a good idea to do the same sport as your GF or wive. Know a lot of examples where couples really gave each other hell through this. but then again - if you ride with a group and there are other girls / ladies in that training group than this can also lead to other difficult problems with the GF / wive. This is one one the reason why some woman start cycling - to check up on their other half's. This will only be a problem when it a cruise group ride on weekends etc. Don't think it will be much of a problem for our "younger" guys who are more keen to race in group rides and thus not giving much time to "bond" with the other genders in the group - if there is any.
  5. This is a dodgy thread. I hear mtbnood's piont. for me : NEVER Hit a girl/wife/woman EVER. If you do some group of guys should f(*&k you up so you end up in hospital and learn the hard way! One should never even think that. if this happened there is no way to justify this but I don't think this just happened just by him walking into the house and moering here on first sight too. Either way, both parties should calm themselves down and not confront each other while they are blowing steam.
  6. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/raleigh-back-in-the-peloton-from-2010Raleigh back in the peloton from 2010By:Hedwig Kr?nerPublished: October 8, 09:48, Updated: October 8, 11:35 http://cdn.media.cyclingnews.com//2009/07/24/2/bettiniphoto_0041791_1_full_220.jpg It's the Tour de France and you have to shoot the sunflowers! British brand has five-year plan to come back to the top of European racing British based bicycle manufacturer Raleigh has announced its return to professional cycling sponsorship, founding Team Raleigh, a UK-based squad that will begin racing next year. Team Raleigh has high ambitions: Coming back to the top of the European racing scene within five years. It will be start out as a UK-based team that will target the UK Premier Calendar, Tour series and Elite criteriums in its first season. It will also aim at securing invitations to the 2010 editions of the Tours of Britain and Ireland. The ambitious long-term plan will then see the team, which has applied for Continental status with the International Cycling Union (UCI), move onto the continent for bigger challenges. "Raleigh aim to re-establish themselves at the very height of professional road racing again, 30 years after their 1980 Tour de France win, thus uniting their marketing and global range strategy, with an ambitious five-year plan," said the newly-founded squad in a press release this week. Raleigh were highly visible in the professional peloton during the late 1970s and early 1980s. At the time, their TI-Raleigh squad was synonymous with success. Joop Zoetemelk, Jan Raas and Gerrie Knetemann were all members of the team, and their victories included World Championships (Knetemann in 1978 and Raas in 1979) and the 1980 Tour de France (Zoetemelk). With its rider roster and co-sponsors yet to be announced, Team Raleigh has nevertheless already appointed a team manager, Chris Truett. The current director of Team Kinesis UK, Truett is looking forward to the new project. "I am excited and honoured to be the new team manager for Raleigh," he said. "We have some exciting times ahead and I will be looking to make Raleigh the best team in the UK, one that everyone will be talking about." 7. Cyclelab.....almost like the lance Armstrong thing - either you like them or you don't. nice place to go and see bikes and parts on display - for me that is
  8. Sweet where in PE ? Go there often for work
  9. seat setups basically the same - depending on what riding you do. for XC exactly the same, for trails etc can be a bit lower. Not all measurements can be the same - like reach to the bars. on road bike you fit so you can be comfy on the hoods - thus further away from the seat as handlebars only like on MTB.
  10. Any chance they can fit the bike to me instead? Don't fancy surgery unless it is absolutely necessary. Sorry. makes more sense now - edited if you want to fit to your bike ...mmm.. nip and tuck, cut and fit ?
  11. guys - book at SSISA / Newlands and they will sort you out. Not like other shop setups. its propper and with these guys you can go back and they know why they did something, not just working from a basic bike setup instruction. At SSISA they really fit your bike to you and not just fit a bike to a rider ASTANA2009-10-08 03:38:59
  12. Well.. let me tell you. Its far cheaper that way as to get injured and then go through 12 months of physio, MRI's, other scans etc etc. Would not trust any other setup than them (Dr. Jeroen Swart). Thats just me - some might think otherwise
  13. what about eggbeaters , from Crank brothers? Have you not considered them ? Riding shimano's now - very happy, they will last forever and can take knocks all year round. Shimano's just feels bulky and looks heavy. But when clipped in you don't see anything and can ride for hours and be happy. Don't really see a reason to switch to look quarts.. Would prob ride them if I got them with the bike.. ?!
  14. Man - the EASTONS all the way. just by looks its clear! Like JB said - good for race and train - solid wheel
  15. Whats wrong with a tazz ?? driving a TT (toyota tazz) is lekka man. Save money in car payments, service cheap, get you from home to work and back. can drive to races and the beach. People would not try and steal your car - its not as pimpable as `n City Golf. Rather spend that extra cash on bike upgrades if you have extra cash that is
  16. Upgraded MTB - cooler frame and better group set. not Carbon, but being a roadie Alu is 100% for me. NO regrets !
  17. When ? Today ?
  18. Something positive. The rest of this tread is a everyday fact. Pllt skip lights all the time. Let everyone stand in for themselves. Just remember - if a car skip a light and crash with another car - chances of survival is relatively good compared to a cyclist been taken out by a car from the side!
  19. USN is crap and bullsh*t Stock Evox and HMTS ASTANA2009-09-29 06:42:49
  20. I notice a lot of first timers on the hub posting on this tread (1-5posts). Mr. Tri-shop you can just use one name and post - dont need to create different aliases.
  21. I bet you Cabinfish and Horshovd will break it in a sprint. ja they would probably "trap" the crank through the BB. haha. Winning is not sprinting - you have to be gentle with these - high cadance
