  1. I've flagged numerous rides where people are going 70+ on uphills whether I'm the KOM or not. Always good to move up on position
  2. Short answer: Get a championchip. You can get these at running shoe shops (ask for a bike bracket too!)
  3. Guess it is coz I've blown right through my fitness points then. Single member 80,000 points
  4. I've got activities dating back to June on there. However I doubt they'll be giving out points for old activities - or for any activity this year?
  5. The maps are the least of the functions of the 800. Remember it does not do voice guidance! It can do guidance but only with the line on the map and beeps when turns etc come up. Guidance eats battery as if there is no tomorrow! You can purchase local maps, or alternatively download free maps from openmtbmap.org or for road: www.velomap.org. Aside: I bought my Edge from CRC a few years ago, and I'm running local maps on it (SD card)
  6. And the annual /levy/maintenance/admin fee?
  7. I'm keen, but... will see how the knee feels after a week of riding, after abusing it on the previous ride. Monday used to be my rest day... Seriously need to nominate another day for rest... Can't shore up the 'rest' for the 27th when I won't be able to ride ...
  8. There is some 'evidence' indicating to an estrogenic effect of tea trea oil. OK and soy, and aerosols..... So go easy the dose of that when mixing own concoctions to join the house of bib slithering!
  9. I'm also a VG virgin (Ok, I was there once, but got so horribly lost that I had to make a run for the road and get the cell gps to take me back to VG)
  10. Thanks, seems like you have to create the album as public. You can change privacy settings afterwards.
  11. Care to explain where/how you did it?
  12. How does this work? When I try to create a photo album I get a message "You are not allowed to create more albums". I have a grand total of zero albums at the moment. So, where/how to create these, and what is the procedure?
  13. Sunday I'd prefer to do a l-o-n-g road ride (need to stretch the weekend's distance to 200), so maybe Monday? Pick a time and place, and start a thread to get a gang together!
  14. Saturday I'd like to ride with the club. Have a few scores to settle with the black stuff hills. Sunday or Monday? Breedts again, or elsewhere? - I prefer riding my bike to carrying it over rocks (ie. I'm not good on technical stuff), So, no Kings for me.. Never been to Modderfontein. Spruit is also good? We can always twist Nance's arm to take us the other way from B2B...? Something like this (ignoring the false start past the police station: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/28260857 Maybe, instead of going over the hill to the satellite road (although I enjoyed this the last, only, time we rode there!) and do a u-turn we can go to VG, have ice cream pay our moneys and return via parts of their trails?
  15. You should NOT stretch before exercise. Stretch AFTER exercise. Do active warmups before exercise. That means taking it easy at the start of the ride, or going for a ride before the event, or going for an easy jog
  16. I can like want to join the group ride..... Need to get from the lynotherapist 3pm appt in Blairgowry to the start... At least it is downhill there? Do I bring my go-go 16 or climbing gear?

    Rapha Festive 500

7 or 8 days? 63 or 72km per day is actually quite doable... other than getting up early to ride on Christmas day....

    Rapha Festive 500

I might join. Need to have certainty of available time closer to the start of the event
  19. Nobody mentioned it.. but tyre levers (are kinda obvious until you do not have them!)
  20. Road: Multitool, quick link. Spare tube, patches, 3 bombs, adaptor MTB: Multitool, quick link, spare tube, patches, 4 bombs, adaptor, tubeless plugs + accessories, oh, and 3 cable ties + a spare tubeless valve - not sure why / how it landed up in the camelbak
  21. You can always contact cat-i or zoo cookie 1 here on the hub... I think they've crossed over from the MTB side to darker adventure racing / mountaineering tracks... Maybe they can help the cause, or put you in contact with people who are either in power, or are sympathetic?
  22. Seems like it warrants some investigation....
  23. You must have done something for me to hand it to you... I do not recall any guns / knives being drawn .....
  24. Farther Christmas was so kind as to take my ForeRunner 405 with a dead battery to Garmin and swop it for this:
