  1. Ahhhh- OK. I was at a Durban LSB yesterday and pone of the guys told me that they would be fitting a lot more SRAm, but he also said that they were cheaper, including the X0.
  2. Under a hippo they certainly won't brake, simply for the reason they will most definitely break.
  3. C'mon guys, lets be objective about this. Its great fun to take sides in a debate between Campy and Shimano. Personally I love my two Campy gruppos, and I have nothing but reliablility from my Shimano ones. But this rumour opens up the prospect of a nightmare scenario, in which we as the consumer cyclist would come off second best. I for one don't believe the rumour, but just imagine a monopoly manufacturer- i'm sure I don't have to spell it out. Campy is still the majority gruppo used in the TdF and Giro (and probably right through the pro races), so they still have the muscle to resist any takeover- the Italians would not let an iconic sporting brand like this go. SRAM will be expanding into the market, especially with American money and influence behind it, and the more competition, the better.

80.3 on the same stretch this year- was a perfect day for a race hey? Used to drive up and down that hill every day for years when I lived in Westville North.
  5. As a vegetarian what are the advantages for you as a cyclist? Reading in Search of Robert Miller. He was also a vegetarian, but doesn't go through the benefits.

Once did 166.5 k's going down a hill here in Xinavane.................. ........ No, I cannot lie. It was while I was turning the crank with the bike on the workshop stand. Sorry. And Xinavane is as flat as a snooker table. My fastest was actually going down Ou Kaapse Weg during the Argus when it last went down that way a few years ago- 84 km's. Now that's the truth.
  7. I'm told that spray n cook is banned in the UK? Something about it being hazardous if breathed in.
  8. Which ones? The earlier one in which I said "how can I love you if you won't lie down", or the last one? Nah- just 23 years of experience to try out different things and to find the ones that work.
  9. You can negotiate with her- reach an agreement that you can get your item, and that she will get something she wants as well. Or you can consult with her- tell her that you've made up your mind to get something, its a fait accompli, but that you would be very grateful for her input on the colour, or the size, or the date of delivery. Either way she'll feel part of the decision, and she won't resent being bullied over. She might even be so happy to be involved that she'll let you get lucky.
  10. Wifey always rolls her eyes when I ask her how I can love her if she won't lie down.
  11. They guy on the left looks more like one of the Schleck brothers...... The cycling shorts on the skinny guy, that BH says is HR , but looks very much like Rasmussen- very cool. Assos?

  13. Oh yes. And here's my one. Easy to get used to the uncluttered feel of the integrated.
  14. That integrated stem/handlebar is awesome (if you'll excuse the paintwork).
  15. Phil Ligget with the understatement of TdF2009, talking about Andy Schleck as LA passed him: "He must be surprised to see Armstrong there". Ligget is a very polite oke.
  16. Don't think so. Same team' date=' same doctor, same rest day supplements. [/quote'] They stopped the Astana truck at the border and found none of the supposed "supplements". They found a bottle of olive oil. Latest news: And French officials denied that they gave serious consideration to confiscating the olive oil from the Astana bus, on the grounds that riders were using it to give themselves an unfair advantage by covering themselves in it to make them more "slippy".

Guys, each day that passes by, the more remote becomes the recovery of that Scott.
  21. So the bike keeps evolving... Just the legs stop getting stronger at some point. Remember when the bike you bought 5 years ago was the best available- now its been overtaken by new gruppos, new frame designs, new art trends, lighter, stronger, improved, like washing powder.
