  1. Oi, what's wrong with scarring? They're great for party conversations, they psyche out the okes in the bunch, and the chicks dig 'em (I'll show you mine......).
  2. I called Darryl Gove today. He put his side of the story to me, undertook to repay me and all the guys who took out a sub, and I recommended that he put it on the Hub. For R300 I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, for now, but if I don't hear from him then he's just shooting himself down.
  3. I expect you're right Porky. I'll give him a call tomorrow and reveal the lurid details right here. But maybe one of the Hubbers know something.
  4. Right. One year on, and no mag. R300+ down the drain. But, ever the optimist. maybe, Mr Darryl will be at the 94.7 expo.... Over to you mateys for any light on this bloody nefarious matter.
  5. EEEEKkkk!! You skrikked me. Still waiting for my sub copy via our SA office.
  6. they killed themselves laughing?even after the tenth time they told me? so i asked them why you can't smell moth balls? I give up - why can't you smell moth balls? 'Cos they don't have any, silly! Naughty enough I'm sure to have had the boys rolling around splitting their sides. Oh, and if Lance is here in March, surely he'll maak a draai by the Argus Expo? It'll be the only chance I would get to see him, unless he plans to pull over at my porsie in Moz.Yang2009-10-22 14:23:39
  7. Washing machine or hand wash with washing powder. Running water won't get rid of the oils from your sweaty bod that become impregnated into the fabric.
  8. ...... he got his new Kuota. And he's been training like he means it.Yang2009-10-18 22:59:38
  9. A mate of mine managed to do the inside of his lower leg, about a 15cm x 10 cm patch before the epilator got clogged up and he gave up from the pain. His time over 50 km's has improved by 2 minutes since
  10. The ulnar nerve thing is common with cyclists and its actually normal. Most of us get it. I've been cycling for 10 years and I still get it, especially on training rides. As far as I know there is nothing that a doctor can do- like there isn't a pill you can take that will stop it. What you have to do is: - wear decent gloves, preferably with gel padding, - change your hand position on the handlebar often, thereby taking pressur eoff the back part of the palm of your hand the ulnar nerve runs donw the centre of the palm of your hand and your hand position on the handle bar compresses this nerve, disrupting the nerve signal to your fingers which go dead. When this happens just shake your hand and feeling returns within seconds. Nothing to be alarmed about.
  11. To see these pics is incredibly sad. The organisers contract out the job for the timing mats out. Its the same guys who put them down at all the racetec timed races. They will be at the 94.7 as well and were at the Argus. When you sign for the race you indemnify the organisers from anything going wrong. But all that this does is make it harder for you to claim, because they cannot indemnify themselves against their own negligence- in this case the negligence must be on the timing people, not the actual organisers themselves?
  12. HR, songs will be written about you. Towns and cities around the world will give you the freedom of the city, with gold medals to go. Women will want to have their children by you, and the unlucky ones will name their sons (and daughters) after you. You will be recalled to Ireland to take up ambassadorships of your choice. Presidents will call you up for your opinion. In other words, well done old son, for setting the standard that all will aspire to.
  13. Eeiiiii- you know- some people- no appreciation of wildlife at all. At least I have the memory of those cheeks.
  14. Hi Samma- they were about R3,500.
  15. Hahaha. I guess I like contrasts and opposites. Speed and slow, slick and sticky..... yin and yang.. That pic does it.
  16. Tankman, love your signature of the chipmunk cheeks chewing nuts. I have the FSA K Wing bar on my Giant training bike, and these integrated stem flat handlebar on my racing bike: I won't go back to the ordinary round bars. Yang2009-10-14 15:33:13
  17. The Sharks players also shave, not just the Bokke and the Mof Bulle. See:
  18. Can't wait to get mine. Tom is in Jhb this weekend to fetch our 3 kits.
  19. That's my recovery drink- large scoop of Milo, 1 part water, 3 parts 2% low fat milk, and a couple of scoops of FIT Dura Train, chilled to the point of ice crystals forming, served straight after I finish the ride. Yum! The Milo and the milk alone is the complete recovery drink.
  20. . And then afterwards we can watch the peeps get whiplash as they check out your bike leaning against the Mugg and Bean railing.
  21. Hey V, see you on your baby at the pre Shova Hub ride!
  22. Am shocked that you're shocked! But seriously, this just shows that doping is so pervasive that it will always be in sports.
  23. Excellent stuff Burry. Whatastar, whatastar! When I see you at the next race I'm going to ask for a photo with you and an autograph.
  24. Yep- corrected myself just in time.
