  1. Hmmm- I think the bikes that end up here are mostly from Gauteng and places closer to Moz...... Good luck Pierre.
  2. You can do an experiment to prove that the heavier object will go downhill faster. Get a smooth (polished) board. Incline it to whatever degree you want. At the top end place two boxes of matches, one empty, and one with coins. At the bottom have someone with strong lungs. Let the match boxes go and the oke at the bottom must blow at the boxes (ie, simulating wind resistance). The box with the coins will get further faster, unless the empty box farts and overtakes.
  3. Eeeeeehhh, that's nice. Have you now recused yourself from the Ibis competition?

It stopped raining, then it started again. Now its stopped.

    Ho-hum. Its raining here.

    Stolen Trek

Yep, that's what I think as well, but there should be enough of a network radiating outwards from the hub for there to be some word of a stolen bike. If my bike was stolen I'd tell my mates and my LBS- along the way I'm sure I'd be pointed in the direction of the hub.

    Stolen Trek

I'm starting to think this bike wasn't stolen.

Oi- go check your garage. Or maybe your bike room. Or maybe the rack on the back of your car. Is your Trek still there? No? Somebody out there must be whinging. Well, then contact me.

    Stolen Trek

There's a trade in quad bikes, boats, cars, Mbikes, all over the place. Apparently many of them are insurance rip-offs. I expect that if noone claims this bike, like the stolen Scott that I announced earlier and is still here, its possibly because its been replaced by insurance.

Anybody looked in their garage lately and found that their Trek gone's missing? There's one in the local village. Silver frame, DS. Let me know before it is acquired by a new "owner".
  11. Oh yes, I met Riaan as well. He's a No.1 oke. He'd definitely be up there on my list of top people to invite for dinner. And I have the photo to prove I chatted with him.
  12. I actually can't say anything without it sounding cruel. LOL. Maybe he's the REAL Mampara. But yeah- could happen to the best of us. At least its just a tyre- not as bad as getting your bike wiped out on a roof rack.
  13. Yes he dunnit he dunnit he dunnit. Fantastic.
  14. My wife thinks "he's so CUTE". Hmmmphhh!
  15. Hey Pencil, will be in touch with you and David closer to the time when I have definite arrangements, mainly when it is that I will arrive. Thug, my days of triathlon, ie running and swimming parts, are over, at least while I'm living here in Moz. PM you guys maybe tomorrow at a more reasonable hour- g'night all.
  16. I'm keeping my options open by taking both my MTB and road bike down.
  17. No 5 or 6 for me. Need a sub 3:03 for a PB.
  18. Yep. FiT Duratrain is for recovery (as I said, post-ride), Carbotrain is for training, and Carbo Supreme is for racing. Funny story- for the Amashova I took down my tub of Carbo Supreme for the race, got to Durban opened the tub and found I had brought with me the tub I had used to store a load of pecan nuts. So I had to prep my race bottles with Game instead. And my result for the Shova? A PB by more than 20 minutes (3:10)- go figure!
  19. Good onya Noche- normally find it at PnP, not Shoprite. Melon is surprisingly nice but if you get it put it in a non-see thru bottle because its a weird green colour, and people look at you funny when they see it.
  20. When will you be there?
  21. Noche, I've posted about this before, and in doing so I'm trying to save you some money. Personally, for training Game will sort you. Its about R40 a tin and for most of your training needs will do the job, same as its done for thousands and thousands of runners for years and years. The other stuff is too expensive to use on your ordinary training ride, unless its shortish ride and you use water. Post ride- longish ones- I use FiT chocolate Duratrain, with an extra helping of Milo, half water half milk, slightly chilled to the point of ice forming. Now this stuff is so delicious it makes the pain worthwhile! Then FiT for the occasional long training rides- its not cloyingly sweet, and it will satisfy your need to spend some money on expensive stuff. And I have in interest in these products because I work for a sugar factory and some of my sugar probably ends up in these products.
  22. I'm already planning my visit to East London over Christmas and New Year, and looking forward to hooking up with riders down there. Getting in on about 22 Dec and staying over until about 3 Jan. Can't wait. Should I take my MTB or my roadbike? Both? Lets hear from you EL people!
  23. Wracking my brains for an incident in my 10 years of riding.............. ummmmmm.................... Nope- nothing has broken with me. Sorry.
  24. Go away Squier. Do you have the gift of foresight, like me? 21-17 to the Bulls. We'll have to split the winnings glory.
