  1. Yep, she was very very nubile- like the hotties at the Adidas stand at the 94.7. Just a pity that she was with a company that hasn't been able to deliver.
  2. Time to revive this, for those who have lost hope of seeing this mag, and may want to get their money back I sent DarrylGove this email on 2 Feb, so far no response: Hi Darryl <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Please advise the latest situation regarding the magazine. I expect that all bets are off and if so I would appreciate a refund. Regards
  3. Sorry to hear about the thefts- the experience must have been frightening. I've been away on holiday and there don't seem to be any new bikes here that I've seen since I came back. But I will post if anything comes up.
  4. Pity- never made it there. Guess I'll have to look up the milkshakes out here at the local hotel. Can't wait to post the photos when I get back.
  5. Frieslands? Who's Frieslands? PM me her number and I'll look her up and say howzit. Lol. Am now sitting at a cottage near Hole in the Wall, contemplating a moerse steep track that I intend riding/pushing my bike up tomorrow to start my coastal exploration by MTB.
  6. So, is there nobody online who can tell me about the cycling time from Eric's tomorrow moryning, Sunday?
  7. Here's an update. Rode with local cyclists on Mon, Tues (35), Wed (39) and Thurs (81 k's), mostly triathletes training for 17 Jan event. We meet at Eric's at 5:00 and the rides have been great, the guys and the one girl (kept up with us on her MTB!!!) even better. Many thanks for the fitness ramp up you gave me these days, even tho' you dropped me when you tuck in downhill. Will be looking for you at Eric's on Sunday morning for the long ride. But can someone tell me what time to meet at Eric's?
  8. Wasn't me. I'm in EP, but in East London, not PE. Been riding with some of the local triathletes, and I can't overtake them, no matter how hard I try! 'sides, my bike is white black and red.
  9. I'm a serial greeter. I greet the local pedestrians with a "lishile" (g'morning), and I greet the local cyclists (I'm usually overtaking), I wave at the sugar cane truck drivers in the cane fields, and I wave at the taxi drivers as they go past on the other side of the road, and they mostly wave back. I greet the drivers mostly in the name of self-preservation. This works, because most of the local taxi drivers now know me and they overtake me on the other side of the road. The locals get a kick out of it, especially the kids. And when I'm training in SA I greet other cylists with a wave or a nod or say howzit. I see it as part of the fun of the ride, and it works for me.
  10. I think in a coupla years people will turn around and say "Eish- jaw bone oakleys! How could I EVER have put such an ugly pair of sun glasses on my face!!!!!"
  11. Ja. And organise smooth tar roads for us hey.
  12. Guys, this is turning out to be one hell of a potential rocking holiday with plenty of people turning up with bikes, never mind the local club riders. One of my cycling Moz mates will be down in EL as well during this time along with family who are into riding. I'm looking forward to some riding along the Wild Coast near Hole in the Wall from the 28th into the New Year. Looks like its getting better and better- more riding than I expected. Now.... how am I going to break the news to Wifey?? Kletterer, I don't know the area too well. Looks like we as visitors will be feeling our way around, with a little bit of help from the cycling addicts there.
  13. There's two crocs- mating! Oh! No... sorry- just a reflection.
  14. PM the Doctor (Jeroen Swart), for advice or a pointer in the right direction.
  15. 'k- vote 25 was mine.
  16. Oooohhhh- those wheels are ... errrr.... errrrrrmmmm...... they leave me speechless. Weapon, how about some specs on those wheels- weight, price, availability, etc?

    Stolen Trek

There are guys running businesses in the village who are coining it. Re the Scott, the only way that I can think of to get it off my hands is to auction it on the hub?

Can't say RL- up until the LBS guy called me this last time, I come across the bikes when I drive past the village- would not remember individual bikes- I hardly ever see road bikes up here, and there are the occasional supermarket bikes and other with cheap gruppos that end up here.

The exchange rate varies- the Rand is strong now. For Kleintjie's bike i did the exchange on xe.com, and the 16,000 mets turned out to be R4,092, at an exchange rate of 3.910 Mets to the Rand. This time last year it was about 3 mts to the Rand.

Yep, I went to pick it up this afternoon and I'm meeting Kleintjie in Nelspruit to reunite him with his baby. I just worry about the fact that this is a market that is being created. The guy who had the bike phoned me to tel me that he had another bike the other weekend, so now I'm the guy to go to when he gets new stock in. I posted the stolen Scott MTB a couple of months ago but nobody claimed it, and expecting to find the owner I bought it off the guy and its now sitting at my place, with some poor guy in somewhere in SA still without the bike- now how do I get it off my hands? The bikes are going up in price up here. Intern's Spes Works they wanted 15,000 mets, negotiated down to 13,000mets, and Wheelsuck's Felt they wanted 25,000 meticais (exchange about 3,8 mets to the Rand), and I negotiated it down to 18,000. I got Kleintjie's bike down to 16,000 Mets, because I'm turning out to be a "good customer". Its a quandary- now the message gets back to the slimy thief in SA that he must steal more bikes because I'm buying them! Yang2009-11-25 08:19:14
  22. Nicely picked up swsup, from over a year ago- in time for the people contemplating a sub 3, wind free Argus in 2010 to start thinking seriously about their prospects and what they can do about it.
