  1. Yeah, got the COFBA shirt but not the bibs. It happens
  2. So, are we looking for a new frame or for another frame?
  3. Not yet - it's very very rough.
  4. Let's start a participants list again ... we can update with seeding once we get it. Ultra marathon Marathon Half marathon Riaan Coetzee Fun Ride 20 Fun Ride 10 Carma
  5. Distance. Cost. Friends that will also be doing a certain race.
  6. Any feedback regarding Smoove? Keen to try something new
  7. Np, no no no NO! If you buy a new bike, you MUST post a photo of it on your couch. If it's already dirty when you take the picture, you can take the picture in the shower or in the tub. Rules are rules!
  8. Oh, you mean lie? Or is it committing fraud? Not sure about the semantics
  9. Something like this, I think? 2011 route. http://www.strava.com/activities/4180066/
  10. No, you can send a valuation report from a bike shop - with serial numbers etc. QED.
  11. I've put in two claims. One was a schlep 'cause it was jewelry, and we needed to find proof of ownership (photographs were fine) but was paid out in full after about two weeks. The other was paid in full within 24 hours - electronics damaged by lightning.
  12. LOL I went and double checked. On my VW Bus I have a flat R3500 excess. Windscreen R750 other glass R150 Home contents - 5% of claim, minimum R1 500, maximum R4,500. I KNOW the min was R800 previously, but i guess that changed after my last claim (paid out in 24 hours) And the excess on bike (as specified portable) is R500 max 5%
  13. Household is R800 min and 5%, max I'm not sure of but it's around R5K iirc. Car excess also 5%, R250 for glass etc.
  14. Please don't get despondent - local races takes a while to get known and popular. Keep plugging at it. As far as advertising, try contacting some local clubs (go to the bike shops and chat to the owners) and get them involved. If our club knew of this (and it wasn't Warrior race this afternoon) we would've rocked up in some numbers. Just my 2c.
  15. Just a heads up on King Price insurance - for every vehicle you have comprehensively insured with them, you can comprehensively insure a bike of up to R50 000 value for R1 per month. This includes certain parts breaking in a crash, like frame, fork etc. Excess is R500 or 10% of claim ... damn good if you ask me
  16. Blood, sweat and tears. I'm still recovering from pneumonia but my pr's keep falling Happy as bacon on toast.
  17. I got a new bike last week, and my mates' reaction were priceless. One bought me a chain sock, the other a bottle cage, another one a set of bottles. On it's maiden ride, I got to go first down a new piece of singletrack with two Go-Pro riders (trying) to follow It was awesome. And yes, after having spanked a great many 29'ers on my 16.2Kg 26" Axis, I can tell you flat-out that a 29er is as fast as claimed.
  18. In my "I'm not a doctor" opinion, nebulize with Duolin - it's the only **** that actually worked (Is working?) for me, I've had pneumonia/flu/symptoms for 8 weeks now.
  19. He he ... Helpmytrap, got it on Friday. It are bootiful. 4.2kg's lighter than my green bike
  20. If you can do it yourself / afford getting a shop to do it for you, go tubeless.
