  1. Oh yes and watch out for the horse **** ... apparently the horses have taken to walking the trails daily now, and we all know they prefer to take a dump right where you're at speed and don't expect it.
  2. Route profiles? What's in the goody bags? Why are there so few water tables? How many water crossings are there?
  3. Anyone pick up their 'goody' bags yet?
  4. Thanks Admin. So, do you and Claudio like beer or chocolate?
  5. Are we allowed to know who 'The Panel' consists of - for transparency's sake?
  6. B batch half and full-on cold/flu FFS
  7. It's not locked, just looks like it - you can push it open. Just close it behind you. There's some people living at the waterworks lapa (caretaker and family) and they close the gate.
  8. Dunno DIPS, can't see any of your Goose's lines I don't like.
  9. Does that plate say DIPS?
  10. I tell my boss I'm ducking early for a ride - he nods and goes "Good idea - enjoy" Fellow biker
  11. I've tried the drinks only - must say they're pretty good. Not sweet, gives you a boost. Some mates say the Caffeine keeps you awake but I have 3 espressos before I even open my eyes so no effect on me IIRC works out to about R5-R6 a shot, so not bad considering.
  12. Lols ....
  13. No, just wondering. Marathon starts at 7:30, half starts at 9:12 and half finisher is expected at 10:20 .... ek gaan moet gatskoonmaak
  14. Are the start times on the website and in the booklet correct? Half starts at 09:12?

  16. *etc. Sorry, it's been bugging me. yes, I feel better now
  17. It's not one or the other. You cannot have a winner-winner-chicken-dinner if you didn't put in the hard yards. So, it's genetics, and hard work, and determination. How much you have of one determines how much you need of the others.
  18. More ascent than Cullinan, less than Van Gaalens Bit of rock, lots of hardpack, not much sand. Some loose gravel. Personally I don;t think it's anywhere near as technical as Van G's.

  20. Still plenty of time to carbo-load on training beers (Castle lite)
  21. He was probably scared of the roid-rage associated with Cape-Town roadies after that other video surfaced.
  22. Hennie phoned me on Saturday - he's one of the two organizers. One of them organizes the Konka race, the other the Magalies Monster. There's no accommodation or meals in the entry fee, you have to organize that yourself. They are busy organizing shuttles run by one of the local schools, sounds like it will be cheap too. I think best bet would be to camp out at Buffelspoort with a shuttle there and back every day. It's only 25-30km by road (not cycling friendly as I understand) I think we'll organize this as a club weekend - go big on the camping thing with cooks and mechanics and ghillies and shuttles ...
  23. Marafakka that was a lekker race. Thanks everyone that made it happen! Two requests if I may 1) The lady photographing under the road bridge right at the start - please tell me you got a photo of me airing over that steel bridge and that you'll share it 2) The guy with the camera behind me, plz send me the link to the vid where that poor piccanin ran under my bike. Turns out he's fine (guy on quad went to double check for me)
  24. %GreatWCStory - thanks for sharing Hayley!
