  1. Don't they have a dental school nearby? They are always looking for patients to work on in SA - essentially a free service.
  2. Where did you source those pads if I may ask?
  3. I only tried to find one once - in Taipei.... (landed up buying and leaving behind a local meths burner) then abandoned the idea of traveling with a gas appliance - local kettle or stove only in future.
  4. The problem with this setup is you can't travel by air with the cylinder in your baggage.... and they are not really easy to find in some countries - not always an issue but can be..
  5. Tall one for me - But the mini works just as well if you are patient... which I am not.
  6. Buy a decent hand grinder now and then save.... you always need a hand grinder for trips away... Porlex is a great one, and not insanely expensive - and can do espresso grinds easily.
  7. Wega - but it's an aesthetics thing for me...
  8. They are pretty forgiving grind wise - Should be pretty close to an espresso grind - maybe a touch courser but definitely not pour over course . Check the bottom of your mokka pot - if it's bowed outward then thats the problem with a flat stove - panel beat it with a 5 pounder.... which will hold for a while and then you have to do it again - alternately buy a very high quality one - Bialetti - in stainless steel...
  9. Maelkoenig/Baratza will sort those out - they always have - but (as you know) speed of grinding is important to me... and unless you go BIG you don't get that - except for the Sette. (and no I have not bought one yet - I am still a Robur fan (annoyed wife and all)) I am also of the opinion that the Baratza Encore is not espresso capable (some people will disagree)
  10. That is a really hard budget point to hit... Grinder I would recommend without budget restrictions - Sette 270 W - https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/baratza-sette-270-series-conical-burr-coffee-grinder?variant=44683984452 This grinder will be fine for a long long time.... for anything from pour over to espresso - but it's not cheap. Inside 5k If you NEVER want to do espresso - https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/baratza-encore-conical-burr-coffee-grinder?variant=18764048452 If you want to do espresso but just outside budget: https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/wega-max-5-8-instant-espresso-grinder https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/anfim-ks-t-domestic-on-demand-espresso-grinder?variant=50029019332 https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/mahlkonig-vario-home-coffee-grinder?variant=15154689540 Inside budget but there are better grinders above.... https://www.worldofcoffees.co.za/collections/manual-coffee-machines-accesories/products/rancilio-rocky-grinder And if you have unlimited budget and a forgiving wife... and a f..ing strong back and reinforced counter top. https://www.mazzer.com/en/electronic-grinder-dosers/kold-electronic/ or https://www.mazzer.com/en/electronic-grinder-dosers/robur-electronic/ And if you want to go cheap, you could do this - Also available in blackl - it will last you a year - maybe 3. Everything else above is probably good for easily 5 - 10 years. https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/severin-conical-burr-electric-coffee-grinder?variant=846589573 edit - I haven't really looked for best price - you may well find better.
  11. Hand or electric? Hand grinders - Hario Skerton or Porlex mini - I prefer the Porlex, but it's more cash than the Hario Electric.... what's the budget?
  12. Put the filter in the dishwasher - should clean it pretty well. More likely there is coffee residue in the riser pipe that is blocking it - and you going to need some brushes and pipe cleaners to get it out if it's hard/ish - you can either crush a dishwasher tablet or buy a specialist coffee detergent - BUT you will need to soak and scrub to get it out. This is not to say that the seal is not old and hard and may be due for a replacement - but usually it leaks pretty obviously when its done. Can't imagine you would easily wear out the filter.
  13. 2 should be easy.... trust me....
  14. Put in a double headed shower and you won't have issues
  15. Toby has already broken 1m in his 993... on the old tar - new tar is faster. 911 is a bit different to a front engined car to drive - my money would be on Toby (especially in someone else's car)
  16. If you can find a decent condition one for 1500 then maybe. You just have to keep an eye open looking for second hand quality machines - saw an Electra lever for 6 k a couple of days ago on Facebook. Rather buy a decent hand grinder and an aeropress first and master those - while you keep an eye open - many ways to enjoy good coffee but all of them start with good fresh coffee and a great grinder.
  17. Wait till Scribante Racing's Porsche stops breaking things.... then let Toby drive it....
  18. That is like peeing into a 40 knot south wester.... you won't be happy with the results - and you won't sell it for anything close to what you pay - unless you buy second hand...
  19. Let me know when you are finished with that one.... might have to have a short discussion with my wife..... who likes bikes....
  20. Something like that... I have however ordered Eisbein in Munich and got what I was NOT expecting... thus I learned the difference ????
  21. Eisbein is boiled... Haksen is roast... same cut.
  22. ugly duckling son of a late night drunken orgy between a series 1 range rover and a silver ghost?
  23. Still to be posted...
  24. I have been - you can rent party space from.them...
  25. Sounds like you need some skills coaching.... maybe call up Peach? ☻☻☻
