  1. Plenty - grinder is everything - better to compromise the espresso machine than the grinder - EVERY time. That said - wives don't like 90lb grinders in the kitchen....
  2. I am at a loss to explain how you think clubbing a car and spending 2 months in ICU worked out for you.... that said... it also didn't work out for Barry. Glad you are still around though - come for a coffee sometime - bring 6th Extinction...
  3. An upgrade... I hope. Edit.... with a massive learning curve coming too.. seems like a good idea today....
  4. pretty much - anything from 240 to 600...
  5. Now go throw the bag of pre-ground out.... the only way to use that stuff in an emergency is in a Bialetti pot - strictly for emergencies. Now I need to get back to ordering my new espresso machine....
  6. http://www.ikhofi.co.za/ - VERY close to him
  7. It helps to know where you are located....
  8. Well - he does teach coffee....
  9. Consider your mattress a 10 year investment at minimum - a place where you will spend at least 1/4 of all your time there - then invest accordingly..... use the same logic for sheets.... 400 threadcount minimum.... And if you don't yet have kids and plan to - just upscale from queen to king - otherwise you will wish you had done this when kids arrive....
  10. That is not even half the collection... although it is 2/3 of my Spez set.
  11. PingThe Nerd and pick up a bag of his - he will deliver it super fresh - nice middle of the road bean which you will enjoy as a starting point. Edit - what I meant to say but forgot... Stay away from dark oily beans with the Super Autos - you will just treble your servicing because they leave residue on the moving bits and it's a pain to clean off before things start sticking.
  12. I would ask your wife which one she likes the look of....
  13. Why wait.... I don't think that 3000 cups is a lot for one of these machines at all - given they are in good cosmetic condition etc - should last for years still - that F50 is a tank.
  14. Here you go - tires is a 2.23 Racing Ralph - a 2.35 Rocket Ron does fit but it's very tight - you can see the paint removed from dirt/mud/tire rubbing - the wheel is pushed about as far back in the sliders as possible - enough to have some chain tensioning, but you could not add another link - I can take out a link, but then the RR would not fit. That said - this frame is a size small, and the bigger frames may be slightly different
  15. Symptoms may however take some time to manifest....
  16. Of the tire fitment or the bike? I put a new Racing Ralph on - 2.25 - it has much a better fit (I had the tire) and I am never going to use it on one of my other bikes, so.....
  17. Funny - I think your timing on tire sizes is a bit out - I own one of the first 6 - and took the slightly tires 2.35's off my xc bike.... to put on the STR - and they do fit - just.
  18. Why don't you ask Momsen specifically where they are going? I think you have to remember that it's a very small market indeed - Enduro hard tails.... nope.... not many people want them, And yes - I do own an STR - with a carbon fork - would I tun it with a 140 shock - sure.... do I need a 140 shock - NO - 130 would be enough for everything I have seen in SA enduro wise. The one thing I would like to see on my frame - the capability to run a bigger and more aggressive rear tire than a 2.35 Rocket Ron - this has been delivered somewhat in the second generation STR frames, but I would like to be able to run a 2.5 Assegai.... just for a giggle.... In fact if such a frame were to be made by Momsen I would probably swap to it. Victor - are you listening? Size small please - your size.
  19. Usually that will be adhesions tearing off - couple of days and you will be back to normal.
  20. Grinder is more important than the machine - scroll back and there are lots of discussions on hand grinders in this thread
  21. Yes - worth it - fresh coffee and a decent grinder and they make a great setup for home and travel. (unless you like frothed milk drinks that is....)
  22. The Saeco shop in Rosebank has closed down - I think these guys are their replacement - https://www.coffeeunplugged.co.za/repairs/ - but don't quote me.
  23. RoRo rear and NN front - works for me on my xc bike. Its been an evolution towards tires with more traction but that stiĺl roll fast enough. When I moved to a 29er it was RaRa front and rear - then RoRo front and RaRa rear - then RoRo front and rear and then swapped the front to NN - anything more and they start to be noticeably slower on most xc tracks.
