  1. Just the Martini..... if he brings an e-bike to the party I am going to ride my noisy bike on the spruit...
  2. Luckily he is twice the man I am..... :)
  3. I have an acquaintance who had to self extract himself from NF with a broken ankle, and drive himself to hospital - similar experience of calling in to the office and getting no/inadequate response. I wasn't actually aware of this until yesterday - but in general I suspect their emergency response planning to be lacking - and access for medical services is somewhat limited there, so in my view - clearly room for improvement on the part of NF.
  4. I have been using bioracer for corporate race kit - bibs are really really good
  5. Certainly would not have hurt....
  6. The only issue is it's not a grind on demand SJ - so ground coffee sits and stales in the chute - fine if your volumes are high like for a coffee shop - but not really great for home use. https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/products/mazzer-super-jolly-electronic-on-demand-espresso-grinder?_pos=2&_sid=b8eec6316&_ss=r&variant=7709309042735 is the one to have - much more expensive - but the mini electronic is better suited to home use than a SJ - it fits under cupboards.... with the small hopper. https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/products/mazzer-mini-electronic-on-demand-espresso-grinder?variant=466346475524
  7. I think the gravel bikes are also a niche market - much like the SS bikes - hardcore roadies looking for new challenges for sure - my normal road ride group are starting to organise weekend gravel ride within the group, so it's a possibility, but I doubt there is a massive market - much like the SS bikes I like the idea of a frame that comes with an angleset - gives a lot of versatility in setup - but I wonder if there is enough for it to go all the way from 140 fork trail muncher to a monstercross bike.
  8. 1. ST-R or ST-F STR - this keeps the option open for SS or running geared - and depending on the dropouts you made available, you could run Q/R or thru axle 2. keep 29er? Definately 3. Head Angle? Slack - 140 fork capable but needs to be able to run a rigid fork as well 4. How many Frame Sizes ... comment above about how a MODERN GEO frame can work with smaller " t-shirt label size " is very true - some brands even do 1 SIZE per model - you might lose the fringe sizes but the majority of the market will suit a GOOD MEDIUM frame? 17, 19 and 21 should cover most people 5. Tyre Size 29x 2.5 - needs to be able to fit a Maxxis Assegai with some mud clearance 6. Rim Width - this effects tyre size in terms of outer diameter and clearance 30 - 35 7. Price in Rands that would make it interesting . 6k
  9. Amalgum fillings do not have lead..... Primarily Mercury, Silver and Copper and are regarded generally as inert physiologically - they are more dangerous to the dentist than the patient (because they mix the liquid mercury in - but dentists do not regard is as a major health hazard to themselves - given normal safe operating procedures)
  10. I send everyone in Jhb to Rob Routier at Olivedale - he doesn't specialise in athletes per se, but he is my go to guy. And if you don't follow his program exactly, you are history.... (my kind of approach) He has also saved a couple of friends lives over the years.
  11. But John is right - I am not here to give qualified advice - mostly just here to talk **** about bikes
  12. Chat to your GP - he will be able to medicate the edge off a bit... quite a lot off actually - or refer you to a psychiatrist who can.
  13. They do work for some people - quite a disturbing feeling when you use them. Ask your physio to recommend a brand
  14. I am busy with camera's now - kind of planning to use the nvr alarm outputs as inputs on my panel - I know this is theoretically possible - just never seen it done by anyone - NVR is up and running with 2 test camera's - now need to get some cables into play
  15. I lock off my upstairs when they visit - always tell them there is a pittie locked away while they are here - My electric fence guy visibly sweats when he gets here until I assure him it's locked behind 2 doors. ADT also have a note that there is an aggressive dog on premises.... Works for me...
  16. Put something with UV resistance on - silkwood or such would be my first stop - alternately something really expensive from northern europe or canada
  17. Buy yourself something like a DSC Neo or one of the Paradox panels - and you can use an app on your phone to check - and arm/disarm etc.... edit - That APP is in addition to the normal keyfobs and keypads you might install - pretty cool when you are away on holiday and want to check - I don't have one personally - but my gf does (and she has about 70 zones on her alarm, so it's useful trying to find open windows etc...before arming....) Most decent modern alarms are multi partition capable - so you can effectively treat your flat as a completely separate alarm to your house - there are also features that allow you to have devices in multiple partitions - so you could for instance have beams that only are armed when both the house and the flat are armed - for a common access walkway if you have such - I don't use these features so I am not 100% on what you can and cannot do with multi partition zones - but considered it for some outside beams for my domestic quarters a while ago - perhaps I need to revisit that now.
  18. I am against them in general - but if you need one to see if it's armed or disarmed - then put it on a short timer relay (which you can do via the PGM outputs if you like) - so it only stays on for the length of the exit/entry delay - but if your zones are programmed right, you can set the alarm inside, and then it only arms when you violate a delay or exit zone on your way out. You could also program the siren to be a bit more verbose on entry and exit (or put an additional one closer to your exit point.
  19. Ping Droo - he will know for sure
  20. Best you add Tsetse fly.... evil beasties those
  21. I have 2 Garmin virb's - I use them during lunchtime road training sessions - one front and one rear facing - don't do anything with the video unless there is a close pass or stupid driver I can identify - in which case their company gets a complaint - and a video clip - sometimes this has a good effect - sometimes it's a waste of time.
  22. Just make sure your installer gives you the installer code and the master user code - then you can diy it pretty easily - but without the installer code you have to set the panel back to defaults and repeat the install - which is more a pain than a problem - although the monitoring company would need to repeat their radio installation as well.
  23. You can drop the sensitivity on the newer optrex passives - not sure if I have found your model - but... http://navi.optex.net/manual/50105/en/DNTXSYnwcvgaqt.html and for the PIR - http://navi.optex.net/manual/50105/en/OKNRSYrgaqykex.html
