  1. there is no competition to be honest road will always have a special place in my heart as my first love but it does get boring and it is very repetitive so my vote goes to MTB for the fun aspect seeing as the same trail changes every day no matter how much you ride it
  2. 2009 they are awesome bikes and as far as i know they do not change for next year
  3. Why dont you look at the GT Zaskar elite just over the 10grand mark and comes with SLX it is also quite pimping in white with a little bit of green and black
  4. Skye you legend... absolutely classic Damn Skye you catching me on posts maybe i should come back and start talking K@K Again... Sorry for the hi-jack guys hope your program comes through soon P.S. a sub 3 is easy as long as you dont have guys in front of you going up any of the hills with thier bikes sideways thanks to the wind
  5. Skye you legend... absolutely classic
  6. do they give a beat the pro's program??? i think i should sign up for that one
  7. A true legend, RIP Alan you were a great idol for everyone to look up to No matter what everyone said when you were alive
  8. the hangar is bike specific and you will not need to replace the whole derailer the hangar is made out of fairly soft aluminium in most cases and is designed to break if too much pressure is put on the derailer so that you dont have to replace the derailer if you crash... most decent bike shops should stock hangars for various bikes if you dont come right let me know and i will organise one for you
  9. pm me with your issues i might have a solution
  10. do you mean retailer???? because i know fritz pienaar cycles used to bring them in but not sure who does now
  11. thats why you buy proper tools and not a multitool
  12. i have better bike handling skills than my partner who weighs 40kg's more than i do so in the end it comes down to who will be least likely to crash the two of you while going into a high speed corner also generally the fitter one of the two should sit at the front because fatigue affects the gearing and also the decisions made on the road
  13. ok would someone please change this threads name to BURRY STANDER WORLD CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!

    Hands?

if you are in the paulshof area i can offer my services to set her up on her bike i do setups in the frits pienaar shop there and i should be able to help find the problem and organise a solution
  15. CC the only way that it would decrease performance is if you are constantly looking at the HRM and by doing that it would slow you down because you think you are riding too hard... about it being tight well if you cant breath then you have a problem
  16. P.S. Bos that good feeling that you get after a hard ride is your mind telling you that a beer would be better than a ride so just do the beer and forget the ride
  17. Eiger that changes it a bit ride both ways you wont be doing anything wrong to your riding over the weekend do longer rides and durin the week do your intervals/sprints between robots/intense hills that way you will work out a good program for yourself according to what you can do given the time you have to work with and when the bunch surges up the road at that important race you will be able to keep up without hanging on like a puppy fighting for milk with his siblings
  18. BOs your legs need time to recover and when your legs feel good it is the best time to let them get better most of the time people hammer it on consecutive days when the legs feel good and do more damage than needed i am not saying be lazy and never test your legs but occasionally when your legs feel good they are just trying to recover
  19. i ride 30km to and from work everyday but before i ride to work i ride for 2 hours 36km a day is nothing compared to what you will do in a race so dont worry about hitting a plateau or overtraining remember that you will get stronger and always go hard on the days your legs feel bad and really easy when your legs feel good because when your legs feel good it is the perfect time for you to let those muscles recover no use racing flat out all the time because you will never get better (make a day during the week that you will want to make sure that you go flat out so on every tuesday you see if you can beat your time from the previous week will add the fun/intensity level onto your daily commute)
  20. Phillip buys has some serious skill haha he must have been having fun!! Thanks for the pics ronelle!!
  21. Too bad it has some of that plastic stuff most people like these days
