  1. I just ordered one now. I like the idea of no separate battery pack.
  2. I’m borrowing this, will credit your forum name.
  3. That view - Amazeballs!
  4. The Badger uses 8Cr13MoV as far as I know which is close to 440C, which is better that the other which is more like 440A or 440B in characteristics. Still not a steel I like, but they are more afordable.
  5. Then consider a small thin fixed blade that you can hang from your neck, like this: http://www.benchmade.com/cbk-family.html Thin, light, fixed blade, quick to deploy.
  6. If you want to look a little deeper, then I’d start to try and align the type of steel with the environment in which it would be used, the edge retention and ease of sharpening etc etc to ensure I select the best steel. Then I would consider the finish and edge on the steel, different blade shapes and profiles have different strengths and weaknesses and what and how and how much it needs to cut will determine the shape and finish. Then the grip and it’s liner, is the liner part of the locking mechanism, is it thick / thin enough, is it light enough etc. Does the grip need to work in the wet, do I need to get a full hand on it, does it protect the hand (if needs be), does it just need to look awesome etc And then sadly I have to consider the cost. 7. When I’m looking at a knife I look for a few things, the steel used, the manufacturer and its history, the design of the locking mechanism (if applicable), the liner and the grip. On a knife like this (and the price is a good give away), you can disregard the manufacturer and the finer details. So we are left with the steel. This particular steel is best described as adequate in most departments of hardness, corrosion resistance and edge retention. It’s not great or even good in any department, but for the money and if you are looking for a knife that you can work and not get attached to it will work.
  8. Please reconsider that holster. That type of holster and it’s variants are responsible for more people shooting themselves than any other. PM me if you wish to discuss, I don’t want to hijack this thread
  9. It’s a badger, a budget type knife available at a number of outlets. https://www.google.co.za/search?q=honey+badger+knife&rlz=1CDGOYI_enZA644ZA644&oq=honey+badger+knife&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l3.8979j0j4&hl=en-GB&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
  10. Reminds me of the Cosmos in JHB, one of the few things I do miss.
  11. Some of that looks pretty intense
  12. I like a decent bib under some shorts / baggies for modesty / protection of others eyesight, but I have had the odd occasion that my shorts snagged on the seat when bringing myself forward from being behind the seat.
  13. Ah, glad he could help you out.
  14. Doing charity stuff doesn’t make you a good person or sportsman. It could well be a facade as part of his professional image or even for some people filling a selfish hole rather than about the work or its recipients. Either way, I guess we should use more than one criteria to judge a person, and even then.... But as a sportsman, his history of “crashes” some that could end the careers of others, I can’t take him one bit.
  15. .... and baggies
  16. What are the odds of getting a decent vantage point from which to spectate if arriving just before the Elite Mens?
  17. #Haibo Yeah, that link still doesnt work for me, but thanks for the image
