  2. I am selling the frame (don't tell Crux)
  3. Just got my new frame - Stevens SLC carbon, weighs in at 885gms in a 52cm and rides like a dream. Not only is it light and very stiff but also descends beautifully and handles like a dream.

  6. Very unlikely you will be clinically overtrained - I know you have been traiing hard from your various posts and new programme etc but more likely you are just feeling fatigued from the increased intesnity (we see this a lot) - cut yourself a little slack while you adjust to the new workload and then watch the performance improve. I have not seen real overtraining on less than 20 hours per week (and usually much more)
  7. SV - very funny... VP- as the others have said, overtraining is not very likely but sometimes what happens is that the current training load is a little too much for the current level of fitness (the more you train, the more you CAN train..) and so as you build some cumulative fatigue, it can affect how you feel on the bike. If it is not affecting performance too much then keep going and listen to your body - on the days you feel terrible then try and get an idea of whether you are actually performing poorly (riding slower) and if so then maybe take the day off or go very easy and then try again the next day. In order to build fitness you have to ride when tired sometimes.
  8. Tough to answer - your proposed plan will maintain A level of fitness but dependent on where you are now I cannot tell you if it would maintain current fitness. All I would say is make the sessions as intense as you can - moderate intervals may not be the best way to use your time. Maybe do a 2 x 20 at 85-90% and then another day do a 6 x 5 at as ahrd as you can go for that duration. You could split them with a hard tempo 60 mins @ 80-85% with some shorter surges for 1-2 mins etc etc
  9. Hey Widget - did you wave good bye to Popo Still - your boy Di Luca is enjoying his last few days in pink - wait until Wednesday (when Gibo rides 5 mins into him on the Zoncolan)
  10. You love it really 3 x 20 anyone ???
  11. I have generally found that double sessions tend to compromise quality - better to do one quality session than two reduced quality sessions. Most of us have time constraints and as such one high quality session will produce better results. The second session in any day will always be affected adversely by the first. Likewise the first session the next day will be adversely affected the last the day before etc etc Train hard and rest hard.
  12. Why a light workout ? A regular session is fine too - it is a good time to workout (especially if you are looking to maximise weight loss)
  13. Running is a great way to maintain CV fitness and is good cross training. You asked how beneficial running is to cycling - the answer to that is "not as beneficial as cycling" Specificity is a key aspect to any training - if you want to be the best you can be at cycling then time on the bike is the way to go and is far more beneficial than running (or any other aerobic exercise) in this regard. If you are sick of cycling and simply want to maintain some aerobic fitness then running or swimming or cross country skiing etc etc will do this.

  17. We will have to agree to disagree - I have spoken to many people over the years about this, and while there may be many glues that will hold a tub on under many conditions, they are not designed to do the job and can fail catastrophically under the wrong conditions (extended breaking heat for example - not seen on track) My life is too important to risk using a product not designed for the job.
