  1. THIS. So much this. Suspension spec IMO far outweighs XT / SLX etc. Ridden Deore for aaaages before this and my previous bike, and nowt wrong with it at all. Rapide are cheap as chips. And very good quality as well...
  2. Pat not involved, afaik. The "suspension designed by Pat" thing was a tongue in cheek chirp regarding the new bikes. Seeing as the only bikes that Morewood had were designed by him, and the ViPa was also his suspension design, the "collaborative effort" could in fact be using Pat's ViPa design to give them a "new suspension design" - therefore Morewood, still designed by Pat. Probably nowhere near the truth, but still funny...
  3. Sadly, that's the USD talking. Top end models are around $ 1,100 or so. So - at the current ROE, we're being screwed. Pretty much on par with competitor offerings in terms of pricing, with Fox and DVO being even more expensive for their top end offerings.
  4. The way these fires have been going, we don't have much scenery either...
  5. It was delayed from the original December release, by the request of Parks to include the Glen, Cork Tree Trail & perimeter trail in the scope of the EMP for MTB purposes Yes, Parks' request.
  6. Patience - the wheels are turning. We're pushing for earlier access, and a partial roll-out of openings. EMP should be out for public comment in the next few days... As an analogy, we've built up the boost. We're now waiting for the lights.
  7. I'd love that climb. When I'm fit, that is. Far prefer this type of climbing to fire roads....
  8. Drastically different weather to Stellies yesterday. Was wonderful riding in the drizzle Incidentally, that's also when The G Spot produces its best riding conditions. When it gets wet and sticky
  9. I wouldn't think so. It's too close to production, IMO. And it'd be a cop-out as we already know it's a Momsen. More like Morewood = 140 plus, Momsen 90 plus.
  10. none that I can see. They've only just moved into their new place. The bike show in september is when it's being released.
  11. Dude, if you're judging the Advanced on the ride you had at Steilte - no wonder. It was set up like craaaaaaap for you. And me, but that's beside the point. Slowly getting her right - just haven't had enough bike time to get the settings as dialled as Robin has. But yeah - you're like 20kg lighter than me (min) so it must have felt like a rigid. Likewise your GT felt like a boat
  12. Steal at that price. You won't be sorry, warrior
  13. Woah. Easy, Tiger. 24 hole 21mm internal width. Those are not figures that inspire confidence in a 106kg hacker, despite what someone of your experience says. Especially at 12 grand. Also, having experienced the difference that a wider set of wheels makes to grip and feel on the trail, in this case it DOES satisfy my requirements for dismissal. Again. Especially at that price.
  14. Nico, honestly - I struggle to find any love for a wheel build that uses 24 spokes and an inner width that narrow, when you can (as rocket has said) get a flow / hope build at less than half the price, and it'll be stiffer and offer better handling characteristics. Yes, it may not be as light, but then this wheelset should be aimed squarely at the XC crowd. And even then, the wide lightnings offer better value, albeit with a lower engagement...
  15. The Ibex & Canis combo is a good one, don't worry.
