  1. YOu jest.... a properly set up seven will run rings around a porker. Given equal driving skill, that is.
  2. I presume you mean 328is? And yes - but to find one that isn't poked to hell and back will be a bit of a challenge! Suppose that in this case an auto won't be a bad thing to buy as I can always sell it for a reconned manual box....
  3. Locally, and there are a few outfits doing them. Lo-Cost offer the chassis alone, as well as various options to suit. Chassis & wishbones at approx. R 23k, already built. Birkin offer kits and fully built cars, anywhere up to R 250k depending on the fit and finish & engine choice then there are other, less wel known builders offering full cars at up to R 125k, depending on the motor and wheel selection etc. Then there's the option of going fully home built, if your welding skills are up to spec, with free downloadable cutting lists and 3d models, which you can use to build the chassis out of ordinary 1" 16 guage steel (or 1.25" steel if you want to bomb-proof it) As for the motor - yet to decide. The most common is a Toyota 1.6 20v unit (the 4AGE) and then also the Ford Duratec / Zetec / Ecotec / whatevertec units mated to either a Cressida or sierra 'box and diff. But if you want to, you can really put pretty much any motor you want into it, and if you're prepared to pay for a custom bell-housing (to mate the engine to your gearbox of choice) you can put a motorbike / rotary engine in it and go hell for leather. Me - I'm probably going to choose from the following, just for spares availability and ease of service: Toyota 1.6l 20v (most common) Ford 2.0l Eco / Dura / Zetec (both of the above w ford gearboxes) or a bimmer 325 or just go cray and stick a ford v6 from a bakkie. They'll all fit, if you make modifications to the chasis to strengthen and accommodate the different mounting points and transmission tunnels... So for me - it's all about the research at the moment. Chassis provider will kinda dictate engine, to a degree, due to the gearbox & transmission tunnel being slightly different according to the engine orientation etc, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
  4. Shot! Just doing some mega investigations into it from now until I am in a position to commit to the build. It may only be early next year, but with both our cars being paid off in August, and a few more changes coming our way come end of the year, it's firmly on track. May end up just selling my existing car once it's done for a bit of a cash injection. I plan to drive it as often as I can. Which also means a rain kit...
  5. He was running a commentary on the change in recent years. The top tube, the head angle, the seat tube angle etc.
  6. Anthem SX comes with a 120mm fork... Exactly the same frame as a normal anthem, just with a bigger fork. So, it would be a slightly relaxed head angle and a slightly higher BB from what is considered a "normal" anthem.
  7. Yeah, I know. And it's one of those things that just defies the numbers. But - I reckon it's solely as a result of their STUPID rear suspension design, and the fact that it's either locked out, or locked out, or... yeah, you get what I mean. The Twinloc thing is a BENEFIT!? But yes. On the numbers - the Scott should be the more fun bike. But I firmly believe that the Anthem is more capable, due to the suspension design.
  8. I'd disagree ith you on the Spark. I'd say the spark is by far and away a more aggressive XC only bike. Although I HAVE seen one with the seat slammed low and used as a trail bike, but that was a bit strange.
  9. I am SUPER excited. I got the go-ahead from Home Affairs to start the process of planning one of these... http://data.motor-talk.de/data/galleries/0/74/6710/36905872/bild-063-1438780195034831987.jpg It's going to be a long term project, and I'm doing as much research as I can to determine the BEST way forward for me and my (soon, but long to be) new baby. Doing the FULL build myself. WOOOHOOOO!!!! But it'll probably take 5 years to complete.
  10. Nope. Was the owner of the business at the time, not the inventor.
  11. These lighties are competitive as hell - but nothing compared to the parents!!!
  12. Jeepers! In full kit nogal! Did you manage to get a few pointers?
  13. Most times. Their contention ratio is far lower than mweb can offer on the home side so it'll be faster at all times than what I had.
  14. Can't possibly be referring to team DJR. They're all reprobates
  15. Telkom mobile. https://www.telkommobile.co.za/plans/plan/10gb-10gb-internet/lte/homeoffice-lte-deal/
  16. yeah, I know. Only problem is the price of data via cellular networks. Can't WAIT for the tv signal to go digital. Will bring down the cost of data hugely
  17. Uncapped - throttled & shaped Capped - unthrottled, unshaped I'm on a 4Mbps line, 150GB per month through Afrihost and it ROCKS> Use it for gaming, and my ping is EXCELLENT. Also got XBMC running, with CouchPotato and SABNZBD in the background, but I just haven't set it up properly yet and we've lagged behind in the series. Nothing a short browse of torrentz.eu won't sort out. And when your torrents come down at 400Kbps, it's a revelation.
  18. once you've read it, she'll wait for you to start talking. Trust me.
  19. that 2nd twist... LOLWUT!!! I'm definitely going to read the book. But I'm happy I saw the movie first.
  20. WATCH it first. Damn.... that is one f'kd up movie. Really, realy makes you look inside your own relationship. Faark. Capricorn put me on to it. Told me to message him when things started getting fkd up. There were at least 4 times when I literally said "F**K" at the screen. It's radical. Such a good movie. Bad, but just good.
  21. Don't jump to any conclusions yet. It's due to be launched in Feb. Still being finalized, and we don't have all the answers yet. For little things like this, I'm sure they'll see the errors of their ways. It was probably a committee decision, or some marketing iidea that wasn't really thought out. It happens...
  22. Yep. One of the 23,287 failed attempts at his fence forward flip.
  23. That was an epic crash, that... And he did it again on his next run!
