  1. I saw this the other day... Far better than the original cup version, IMO
  2. The story... In the early 20th century, Fort Bragg residents threw their household garbage over cliffs owned by the Union Lumber Company onto what is now Glass Beach, discarding glass, appliances, and even vehicles.[1] Locals referred to it as "The Dumps."[2] Fires were lit to reduce the size of the trash pile.[2] The California State Water Resources Control Board and city leaders closed the area in 1967.[1][2] Various cleanup programs were undertaken through the years to correct the damage. Over the next several decades the pounding waves cleaned the beach, by breaking down everything but glass and pottery and tumbling those into the small, smooth, colored pieces that cover Glass Beach.[2] There are three Glass Beach sites in Fort Bragg where trash was dumped into ocean between 1906 and 1967. Glass Beach Site Two and Three (1943-1949) are located at the end of the path that begins on the corner of Elm Street and Glass Beach Drive. These sites are accessible by foot and by a short climb down the cliffs surrounding the beach. Site One (1906-1943) is located south of Sites Two and Three and can only be accessed by water because there is no trespassing on the cliffs above the cove.[3] In 1998, the private owner of the property determined that Glass Beach should belong to the public, and began a five year process of working with the California Coastal Conservancy and the California Integrated Waste Management Board for the cleanup and sale of the property to the state. Following completion of the clean up, the California Department of Parks and Recreation purchased the 38-acre (15 ha) Glass Beach property, and it was incorporated into MacKerricher State Park in October 2002.[4] Tourism[edit]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8f/Glass_Beach_Fort_Bragg_3.jpg/220px-Glass_Beach_Fort_Bragg_3.jpg Some of the rounded glassThe beach is now frequently visited by tourists.[2] Collecting is not permitted on the park's beach,[1] although sea glass can be found on other local beaches outside the park boundary.[5] A Glass Festival is held annually on Memorial Day weekend.[6] Thousands of tourists visit Fort Bragg's glass beaches each day in the summer. Most collect some glass. Because of this and also because of natural factors (wave action is constantly grinding down the glass), the glass is slowly diminishing. There is currently a move to replenish the beaches with discarded glass.[7]
  3. I saw it last night. By far and away the best 3d rendition of a movie yet. Plus, it was a brilliant story. Head on over here if you have time to geek out on the 3d effects side of things. the visuals I saw in this movie were just awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4WD15EgLWc and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etLOZWdZSs4
  4. That wet weather riding on the Trails that we enjoy (singletrack with rutted rooty rocks and berms) trashes those trails...
  5. HAHHAHA!! I have the same issue with my Muddy Mary. Dang, that thing can FLING!!!
  6. Hey, me too!!! http://i.ytimg.com/vi/DW-VxIzWtI8/hqdefault.jpg
  7. Good to see that Conti may be returning to their reliable former selves. As far as I'm aware, the original Mountain King was, well, the King when it came to AM tire specifications. Then the others caught up and left them in the dust. Also looks like an interesting tread pattern on that DKP.
  8. Yep. Cos you generally ride like a fool when yiu have one on!
  9. Keep the fool face. Enduro down here is still very tame by enduro standards, so chances are you're gonna need it in years to come. Plus it helps when you want to push yourself in certain sections.
  10. That's against othrr gloved needle users. Cross platform was never a good idea. Mouse is soooo much better.
  11. Peeeeeeeee Ceeeeeeeee! AWSD or nada. FPS on a console is like trying to thread a needle with welding gloves on
  12. Oh. Me: enjoying Satisfaction atm, and AoS as well as Arrow and to a lesser extent Flash. Must get the latest of The 100. The Blacklist was just too... predictable. Got tired of waiting for the deeper plot moments to come through (her relationship with Spacey, and her sleeper agent husband) which was paaaainfully slow. Still enjoying TWD and I need to get into a couple more again...
  13. Lol. So true. But... you get attuned to it. So many LOL WTF moments when you're looking looking looking instead of just AWSD'ing and using that mouse.
  14. Back on the draw tonight. Work has had me going for Skyrim instead. Far more of a chill out vibe. Plus - reinstating an old laptop to be a dedicated steam machine via their home streaming option. I've tried it out before and it works a TREAT! You ley your main pc do the grunt work and stream the visuals via the router to ANY machine that can run steam.
  15. Was umming and aaahing about that one. Decided on the Corporal SS due to the fact that it'll never go out of style, and i need it to look good with formal attire etc. The red of that watch is pretty kiff, though!
  16. I can finally post in this thread... I've been watchless for many a year, owing to budget and just not finding a watch that I really, really like that doesn't break the bank. So - here is my christmas prezzie... It's just something simple, without any embellishments. Fits almost perfectly (they sent the wrong extra links with the watch, so I have the right ones arriving today)
  17. I'm guessing, but... RWD conversion, bigger engine. Simple to do, but time consuming and you need the right bits.
  18. You're looking on the right track. Mezcal is a fast rolling rear tire
  19. And you are? My productivity says otherwise (and I'm sure Dale and the rest agree) Remember that it doesn't delineate between OH and AH. Those 10 posts per day (for me) could be distributed any way whatsoever.
  20. Not sure that they're submerged, Joe. It looks as if they're resting in a channel of sorts - probably water management or water degradation...
