  1. yeah. Until you get there, get halfway around the corner and go "fuggit"
  2. 100%. Only thing is we were all dog tired (we'd already done the other side, and had a couple of cold ones before heading back up to the Fire Hut) so the ability to do that wasn't really there. Plus my brakes need a bleed. Meh.
  3. Nope. Just some people have natural favourites. It's like goofy vs natural. Doesn't rely on your handedness, just your favoured approach.
  4. Not today, but sunday just gone. Me getting a little bit of air in Jonershoek
  5. Dumbasses, the lot of them, for not wearing lids... but yes. The human body is remarkably resilient...
  6. only benefit with flats in that instance is that the bike doesn't fall on top of you! I've done it before as well...
  7. Re Vitality status - no. It doesn't come into play. "Up to 50%" relates to the fact that the discount is 50% of the pre entry rate, so if you enter on the day you don't get 50% back - you only get 50% of the pre entry value, not what you paid due to your slapgattery
  8. Lol. No, he was actually okay! Perfect drop tuck n roll there, and he rolled into the saplings. A foot to the left and he'd have connected the tree, though! His ego took a far larger hit on the way up, when he over rotated a wheelie. He rides with cleats, so he went right over together with the bike. We laughed so damn hard... and that got more blood out of him!
  9. Another view... and Piston, it'd the fire hut trail on the rhs of the valley as you go through the gate Edit: take note of what my mate says after he sees the oke is okay. Thay was the same for all of us
  10. His response is in the comments line... EDIT: Also a number of other people confirming it was him, and he just walked away with a few bruises. Nothing broken... Matt Leitch Haha wow! That was 8 years ago this October. Still seems like it was only last weekend I did this.Like · Reply · 131 · 12 August at 02:46 · Edited
  11. Are we really using JA as a reference now? He's been frightfully wrong recently
  12. Sigh... You're never "stuck" with any particular company, despite what the other company's tied brokers / agents want to tell you. You're always able to go to another company without any penalty, adverse treatment or other problem. On the med aid side, all they CAN put on you (if you've been a member of another med aid for the last 2 years without a break of more than 90 days) is a 3 month general waiting period IF you have an existing health problem. During that time, you still have access to PMB's. on the life cover side, you're also not prevented from going elsewhere, unless you've got a health problem which you've developed since you took out the original policy. You're never "forced" to stay with any one company. That's just BS, plain and simple. What they're doing is making their value proposition more attractive than the competition, by giving you additional benefits which the competition cannot match (yet) - if you move, you lose those benefits. Simple. You're not locked in, you're just dissuaded from moving by personal choice, as you perceive the value of staying to be higher than that of moving elsewhere.
  13. You'll get there, Harry! 7,500 points each for the assessment, then the health checks, and you're golden (well, Diamond)
  14. Sorting it out now - had a problem with the upload...
  15. Here's the dismount - near the end. Please excuse the lack of speed and music
