  1. Sadly, not so attainable. It's either going to have to be EvoBikes or an import. Like www.bike-discount.de or something similar.
  2. I'm riding without mine atm as the actuator cable snapped. Need to get a strap-wrench to allow the replacement... So it's back to the old seatpost.
  3. Dropper is definitely a must have for that bike. I'd go with the same combo I have (almost) and go Magic Mary SG Trailstar up front, with Rock Razor SG Trailstar at the rear. BRILLIANT rollign resistance and grip in spades.
  4. I have my moments. Still recovering from the ultrafail on the wheelbase alteration in cornering debacle...
  5. Looks like a Deity / Loaded bar... Adding to this... WHY CROSSMARKS!!!? This beast is BEGGING for some better rubber... It's like taking a portable shower to a mexican brothel... Oh - and a normal XT rd? No clutch?
  6. Oh, if you're riding with cleat-endowed shoes and then flip it over to the flat section, it won't be nearly as much grip as the cleat sits proud of the shoe. Unless the pedal is so concave that the cleat doesn't touch, I wouldn't do that at all. You don't want metal on metal when you're riding flats. AFAIK those pedals were designed with 2 things in mind - just random get on and ride as well as a dedicated cleat pedal, or changing it up when you want to ride flats or cleats on a single ride Plus - I wouldn't want to ride those when it gets hairy. Lose contact with the pedal (which can happen if you're cleated OR uncleated) and you have to fiddle around with the pedal to get the right side. Compare that to dedicated flats or cleats where you can just locate the pedal and either cleat in or stomp on it again - no need to find the "right" side.
  7. That sounds like you have Rolling Tire Syndrome. Same thing happened to me with my Hans Dampf and the WTB Weirwolf before it (on the back) When you load up a tyre and it's got weak sidewalls and / or your rims are narrow, the tire WILL roll and make that sort of growling / grinding sound. Only way to get rid of it is to either pump it up harder (bracing the sidewalls) or get a tire with stronger sidewalls. In that respect - I STRONGLY recommend the Schwalbe Super Gravity casing. It is IMMENSELY strong. No more rolling in berms and corners for me, and I'm not a lightweight.
  8. Not really, but there have been reports of slightly less grip due to the increased stiffness of the clipless variety of 5-10's as they have that insert in the sole for the cleats. Trawl the MTBR / Pinkbike forums for more info, as they are international, and someone somewhere would have done it before and written about it.
  9. One Hundred Percent. Even though I only pay R 30 for a movie (thanks, Vitality, Edgars & Clicks) it's still R 100 by the time you factor in popcorn etc. But - having said that, some movies I believe should be seen on a big screen. This was one of them...
  10. That's what we were saying afterwards... We both recognised the style of the track in places, but like the voice audio it was totally out of whack. Treble too high, midrange too low, no bass and no feeling. It was like an assault on the ears, and the whole performance was lost. It was really disappointing, and I had a feeling of wanting to see it again but at home, where I could control the audio channels and get a proper experience, only 1 1/2 metres away from my PDP and my AV system giving it horns, like I felt it deserved.
  11. Just whatever you do, make sure the cinema you go to has their sound sorted. Mada3400 & I went to see it at Canal Walk. You could hear they hadn't pre-screened it - the audio was TOTALLY out of whack, to the point that we couldn't hear half the dialogue. I was improvising in my head whilst trying desperately to lip-read. It's one HELLUVA move all the same, but just be warned that you need to ensure that the sound is sorted.
  12. Not only that, but also stiffness, longevity, resistance to wear on the pins, and just plain traction on the pedals. Trail running shoes pale in comparison...
  13. Nope. Same rubber, different insole & upper. The Impact Lows have slightly more protection around the edges (toe box / sides etc) and a slightly higher heel box, but the grip should be pretty much the same. The only thing they may differ in is stiffness - I think the IL's are sliiiightly stiffer than the Freeriders.
  14. LOL. Ja, it is, rather. Wait till you get to the end of S4. I watched the entire lot (S1 to 4) in the space of 2 weeks. Let's just say it's kinda like that, but more... Just getting into the books now as well.
  15. Dammit. Just kyboshed my thoughts. Though I must admit that I was a fair bit slower when I had my minions
  16. Go for the maxxis minion. Very good tire, and doesn't suffer from the same side know deterioration as the tacky schwalbe. That's what I'm going to go to after I finish with the muddy at the front.
  17. I'm actually surprised you haven't said it yet, so I'll do it for you. SWIIIIIPE!
  18. Look back a few pages... it's there. Also bear in mind that this is only a preliminary list and will most likely change with the addition of further races
  19. Yeah, but I know the reason why. It's one benefit with 2 membership options. So the limit is on the benefit and not the option.
