  1. In the real world, where the majority of people don't read emails. Seriously. It's a problem I deal with every day. First I mail, then I follow up with a phone call. I'd say about 20% of my clients actually read mails and respond to them.
  2. Erm, it's called a telephone. You know, it has 12, sometimes 14 buttons on it, and you speak to other people who have telephones when you want to find something out. Generally works better than email.
  3. Yeah. And we're all the better for it. No way in hell I'm going to spring R250 for a ride that's 50km away (another R100 in petrol, for the dullards amongst us) when I have Tokai just 10km away. And jonkershoek about 50km as well. Contermans is within 35km. No chance in hell. Overpriced, over crowded, over testosteroned.
  4. Not all hubbers think local races are where the fun is.
  5. Yeah true, but momsen can't be held responsible for Solomon's stuff up, as they're only an appointed agent. Same as if ABE supply flooring solutions to a contractor, who stuffs up the prep and the floor goes bad. Client goes after the contractor. If the batch of flooring stuff was bad then the contractor goes after ABE. but ABE sends their specialists to do a core sample, or in extreme cases rip up sections of the floor to determine fault of prep or product. In this case it's fault of the advice, hence Solomon's.
  6. I'm not too much less than that but my bike is built like a tank.
  7. If by "they" you mean Solomon's then yes. Momsen did not sell the bike. They bear no part on the transaction. It's Solomon's who need to come to the party. But in terms of the CPA this doesn't qualify. Afaik it's too low a level of "loss" as its only one rim.
  8. Those okes don't know squat! But dude, it's an entry level bike, the cheapest niner in their range, and not really built for MTB of any kind. Think of it (and all other bikes in this segment) as the beachfront cruising to the shop and back kinda bike. Yes, the guy should have told you that you were too heavy for the rims. But knowing Solomon's, he probably didn't even know that to begin with. Instead of railing against momsen (who have given you a way out by having a new set of their imported rims) rail against Solomon's for giving you crap advice.
  9. Ah. That's the problem. He bought the bike from Solomon's.
  10. You sure about that? The change to TA was one if the updates applied to the new TB aka TB2.
  11. And be warrantee-less... Weigh that up very carefully first. Then if you decide to go ahead with the import, insure it properly so you don't rue the loss of warrantee.
  12. Yeah, but that was the one that got my attention the most of all. Slight changes in shock actuation ratios and stiffening ont eh frame, as well as a few other things as well. If it were me, I'd spring for the TB2 over the TB1 any day of the week if I were looking for a new frame, in that segment.
  13. IIRC the diff between TB1 & TB2 is that the TB2 has a 12mm TA rear whereas the TB1 is a normal QR rear
  14. Check what the prices are locally first...
  15. You mean like this, where he's actually on flats? http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/2/photos/59725/s1600_minnaar_5960.jpg?1374621734
  16. Absolutely. But the point is that if you start on clips, you'll never learn the proper technique 'cos you'll never "need to" because you'll be a jerk-off. LOL. ONLY way to learn how to hop properly is to do it on flats.
  17. More than that, try LANDING a tailwhip / superman / can-can when you're on clips!
  18. BMX racers (racers only) use cleats at the top level. But lighties are forced to use flats for skills development. The only reason they use cleats at the top level is 'cos they (along with track riders) are the ONLY ones to FULLY utilise the pedal strokes - they literally PULL on the upstroke 'cos the races are pretty much won at the gate and on the first straight. Power is king. For any other type of BMX, they use flats. Solely. Cleats on a BMX / / DJ / Trials bike would be suicide.
  19. sadly that's what the majority of MTBers think a bunny hop is. Pull up with arms and legs as hard as possible at the same time.
  20. I'd rather have the Intense, tbh. I love the look of both, but the lack of a cross-brace on the RM just gives me the goosies. As a lardass, I tend to prefer over-engineering rather than out & out aesthetics. But I still love a hot bike.
  21. Guy, that's just WRONG! There's a mess all over my laptop now. Bad v12! BAD!!
  22. WANT. That must be such an awesome bike to ride. I like Intense already, and I've always been intrigued by the 29er propaganda. If I were to buy a niner, this may very well be it. But for now I'll stick wiff my Reign X thanks...
  23. Meh. Must have had sugar-brain. Capricorn is righter than I am. With higher volume tyres, you CAN run lower pressures, but there is a tipping point where low pressure becomes too little to support the sidewalls upon impact.
