  1. You'd be surprized! I'll be on my XC bike with the clipless pedals. You just need to clip in on the starting gate, and you'll be fine.
  2. took mine off. never used it, and it frees up more space on the bars...
  3. Don't worry, mate - Vaseline is the tamest thing he has in his back pocket! He's the best spinning instructor I've seen...
  4. That's why I like the spinning class at Gardens VA on wednesday evenings, and occasionally monday mornings. He's a semi-pro cyclist (just come back from student champs in China) and he used to be a student DJ as well. Plus, it's none of this "get out of the saddle and do calf raises while you're pedalling" ***. Just varied resistance, time trialling, intervals, ladder sessions etc...
  5. Yeah, he did. But that section (the bridge itself) needs to be reinforced in most places... It's actually turned into quite a drop off! MH - that pedally section at the bottom is still part of Vasbyt, known commonly as the quarry section. Then it's down the fire road into my roots, which ends on the little bridge section over the river...
  6. Just Note: There are a couple of forks, so it might be best to mark the course, very discreetly... I'm thinking of something like a piece of orange fabric on a post on the outside of the correct fork... Thoughts?
  7. Damn... shows the difference between Bing & Google maps, eh Nige? Wish Garmin went back to google...
  8. There you go Nige, that's a map of the actual thing itself. Should give you full functionality! The 2nd link is the one to use.
  9. We need as much vorsprung as we can get. There's bugger-all technik!
  10. Yeah, probably. On the HT, with the squirrely tires! EDIT - Tires on the front are IRC Mythos X - 1.95's!!!
  11. Ja, Ja... You just wanna ride. And test your new Kashima-coated pogo
  12. awesome! I'll make sure NOT to ride Nitida or Delvera first... But I'm in... Not this weekend either, got other things on.
  13. The beer afterwards would feel even sweeter! I was just joking about being crazy. I can see the allure of it - that route would be one helluva hill-training route, and sure would tire you out!
  14. I reckon you're spot on... Wes could easily have done it under 7. I could have, if I had been fresher, and had been there before...
  15. So you're whinging about a R 200 p/m cost for being able to ride where you want to ride, and contribute to the upkeep of the facilities that you're enjoying so much? No - you're not being shafted. Do you pay DSTV R 500 plus per month? Is the enjoyment of getting on your bike, and going into the wilderness less or more enjoying than watching TV?
  16. I can imagine it did... That thing's got close to 1000bhp/tonne
