  1. Cajees dont pride themselves or claim on knowing what the best bikes and /or parts are, their primary interest lies in selling cycling merchandise at a better retail price than the other bike shops. There was an article in the Bicycling mag about a year ago where they interviewed one of the owners and he said admitted this. Their prices are excellent but like Hog mentioned, do your homework first.
  2. no whining, just preparing - you did say there was preparing allowed right?
  3. So there's no support but full preparation? That's cool, where does all this preparation get carried?
  4. I would assume it's supposed to read UNSUPPORTED. So get stuck out in the sticks, its sayonara, congrats you're poked mate! Not what you would call a warm 'n toasty feeling right?
  5. any experience in doing this distance before?
  6. 6 days from jhb to ct? Thats over 250km per day. You also mention unsupported, has any thought gone into this plan?

  10. Submerge the entire wheel in water and look for bubbles. Its a lot easier with tubes though because you can look for punctures by using a bucket or sinkful of water. Having gone tubeless (and 'never being happier' ) you now need a bigger source of water, like a swimming pool.
  11. The garmin needs a garmin
  12. anyone know today's winning time?
  13. Thought bibs were the norm nowdays. Do the top brands (Assos, Vermarc, Nalini and the likes) even bring out shorts?
  14. Agreed. Discard the broken one and go buy a replacement.
  15. First check that your bike is set up correctly, then hit the gym for some squats and abs. Dont kill yourself though, otherwise you will be too sore to ride.
  16. Send your watch to Polar Reg.
  17. Hope you still have it, a beaver is a terrible thing to waste
  18. I missed this race last year and am still regretting it - one of the best races of the year.
  19. yes the bars, stems and seat posts are superlight too - all the kcnc parts are made from scandium
  20. I bought the road calipers less than a year ago and initially found that they were not as good as my dura ace ones, but maybe it was just because they felt a bit different. I kept them on for a while longer and found that they got better as time went by, dont know if its just because I got used to them or they just needed breaking in (pun intended ). They do stop very well, and I am 78kg's. As far as the other parts go - the brake pads are crap. The skewers are good - have 2 sets 44g weight for road (training rims and racing rims) The cassettes are superlight but are crap - only last about 1000 km's even with the kcnc chain - no personla experience here but was told this by the kcnc dealer at the Argus Expo in 2008 Crankset - no idea but it looks nice Bling bolts - same as any other dougaroony2009-01-27 08:07:55
  21. Perhaps I'm reading incorrectly but you dont exactly say who set up the new group, you only mention the LBS switching it out, not setting it. If I was you, I would take it back to them and ask them to look at it first.
  22. I'm from Benoni, of course Sweat & Gears makes the most sense
