  1. I totally loved the course, it was hard, climbing didn't seem to let up in the first 25km. and most of the descents were xco style rocky rough singled track. Will be back for rainbow. looking forward to it.
  2. I do service my own bikes. Always have, always will. No bike shop will ever touch my bike.
  3. Looks great. Nice flowing track.
  4. Ok thanks for the info. Helps with tyre choice as I can't bring everything with as I am flying. Sounds like an awesome course. Can't wait.
  5. Hey all. Can anyone tell me a bit about the xco course in Hayterdale? Specifically terrain, rock, sand, loose over hard, wet, muddy etc? it the course tight, technical and slow with short sharp climbs or is it open, fast and flowing? thanks
  6. Ah, ok that makes sense now Thanks
  7. Nope. Service is 50hrs, R700 and every 150hrs it's R1500 So I do about 45-50 hours per month. So month 1 and 2 I spend R1400 on the 50 and 100 hr service. Month 3 I do the 150 hr service at R1500. So for 3 months I have spent R2900. Repeat 4 times for the year and you at about 10-12k.
  8. you kidding. so that means I will need to spend about 12k per year just servicing the shocks!!!
  9. Thanks a million for the response. Looking forward to the race. It's gonna be a blast.

  15. My entry is for sale!!!!
  16. Was a great vent and I had a total blast. really enjoyed the course, good mix between fast, technical, decent climbing and some hotting fun through the school. One crit though, the marshals need to be firmer/ more assertive with the public. I witnessed one incident, on the bridge ofter the long descent, where a rider approached, a dog was on the bridge and when the dog saw the rider, tried to turn around to get out the way, but the rider chose to just ride over the dog, rather than wait 5 sec for him/her to get off the bridge. Cos you know in a 6 hour race, those 5 sec are the winning 5. I know who he is and I could possibly of cost him his win, but I'll let his conscience do that - What a total arsehole. I think the marshals need to make sure the public wait at bridges etc when riders are approaching to maintain a safe environment for all in the park.
  17. My average weekly TSS for this year is: 948 IF around 0.77
  18. Great to hear, Who are you so we know who to look for? Mike
  19. for me I'd take the sticker off
  20. I would go HT. I did epic on a HT and J2c is way smoother than epic. Mike
  21. more people get cancer than do the epic. So your point is? Epic as a race is tough, but not unachievable! you. you need to train for the event just like you need to train for any event. if you aren't prepped, you won't finish, be it a 1 day or multi day race. i think the epic is a fantastic event, the racing that is, but the food, ablutions and general facilities where appauling.
  22. Hey all, Who is doing this race this year Mike
