Where do you generally ride? Obviously not very hilly terrain or off-road. That's world champion busting gearing that. Julien absalon ran an 11-36 and 36 front at pmb xco WC. And at the last WC he ran 11-40 11 speed shimano with 38 up front. Shurter ran xx1. 10-42 and 36.

But I do see he mentioned xx1. I think he is very confused on what he has on his bike.

Unless it's just a non nw sprocket. I run non me on my 1x10.

What sprocket you running for the 11-38 on the rear? Is it a standard or modified cassette. What sprocket did you remove?

wooftooth, trex, one up all, the same, except one up you get a 16 tooth sprocket that replaces the 15/17 for a 3 - 3 tooth jump rather than a 4-2 tooth jump

Hey all, seated all the usual sires for the xco series, cycleevents, csa, etc and may / june seems very quiet for xco. Whats on that i am missing?

Was a great vent and I had a total blast. really enjoyed the course, good mix between fast, technical, decent climbing and some hotting fun through the school. One crit though, the marshals need to be firmer/ more assertive with the public. I witnessed one incident, on the bridge ofter the long descent, where a rider approached, a dog was on the bridge and when the dog saw the rider,tried to turn around to get out the way, but the rider chose to just ride over the dog, rather than wait 5 sec for him/her to get off the bridge. Cos you know in a 6 hour race, those 5 sec are the winning 5. I know who he is and I could possibly of cost him his win, but I'll let his conscience do that - What a total arsehole. I think the marshals need to make sure the public wait at bridges etc when riders are approaching to maintain a safe environment for all in the park.

My average weekly TSS for this year is: 948 IF around 0.77

I would go HT. I did epic on a HT and J2c is way smoother than epic. Mike

more people get cancer than do the epic. So your point is? Epic as a race is tough, but not unachievable! you. you need to train for the event just like you need to train for any event. if you aren't prepped, you won't finish, be it a 1 day or multi day race. i think the epic is a fantastic event, the racing that is, but the food, ablutions and general facilities where appauling.

Skin fold is about as accurate as you can get. don't stress too much on the accuracy to compare to others, but rather as a comparison to your last/ next measurement. Try use the same person each time. What you hoping to get it to? Mike

Agreed that the mud can't be stopped because of rain, however for the R40 we pay they trail maintenance is appaulling!!! The wildlife isn't going to die cos the maintain a 1m wide channel through the veld. the could contract wooden bridges/ crossings where the mud is really bad, like near the river. I haven't ridden there in 2 months because of the poor maintenance. I personally think they are theirs for what we pay vs what they spend. Mike
