  7. Hey all, As Iron said, i am running a 32/18 and will keep that gearing as I feel the places where a 20 could/might work there will be bottlenecks and walking anyway. a 20 is too low for the rest of the course besides 6 x20m climbs Mike
  8. Did the event a few years ago, you will suffer up the climbs if you not used to the altitude, Awesome race with the most spectacular views! GO FOR IT!!
  9. I believe in recovery rides after races, or very hard training rides, also I take 1 day off the bike completely. general week is 1-2 recovery rides, and 1 rest day wiith the other 4 days been hard training Mike
  10. I have entered for 2013 solo. Really looking forward to it! Just wondering a few things: Washing? cant do all your washing at night for it to be dry the next day? do you have 9 sets of clothing? Spares, what spares do you guys carry in your boxes? Mike

  13. well I fall on the edge of the "ideal" BMI. 19.2. and social racer. would be interesting to break up the 19-24 into 19-21 and 21-24 to see how many real skinnies there are! Mike

  19. I currently run a 32/18 and find it quite easy on the modders course, maybe a 32/16 there. never ridden thaba so dont know how they compare. unless advised otherwise, going for a 32/20 for the day. going to do a ride there soon to see how it goes with the 32/18. take it from there Mike
