  1. I've been doing plenty off gravel riding, 1x chain ring will limit the top speed and limit the steep climbing ability. I rather prefer 2 x setup, more to chose from. i like to go where it's rough and steep. So no thanks to 1x.
  2. Hi all Mankele MTB park and accommodation, open again for visitors. Thanks to GZ Adventures for taking over management, after short closure. Hope to see you there, many more things to come hoping to see races back on the new calendar for 2021. +27 (0) 10 001 4253 info@gzadventures.com https://mankele.co.za/
  3. I need to change to different size that's why using code on bearing no use that's why I posted specific size. I've been to 5 different bearing places. Earliest is in 2 months time
  4. ID 15 OD 26 Width 5 mm sealed Where can I get. I need 4
  5. A good Gravel grinder routes in and around Nelspruit. Contact me (Andre ) if you in the area for the weekend. from easy 35 km to 90 km routes, depending on you fitness level. About 60% gravel 40% tar.
  6. Why not instead off doing the old regular races, try a new race, that is smaller and with more personal touch and go to a place where you've never been! Cyclist is so much creatures off habit, I try to at least every year do 3 to 4 new races that I have not done for few years or never before. You meet new people and get to do more races by doing more smaller ones rather than the over priced larger ones.
  7. Few months ago bought l Momsen R355 gravel bike carbon, with Shimano 105 group set. I've done around 380km on it since, and it handles the rough gravel and technical bits very well. Only drawback and that probably is with most gravel bikes is, handles bad on corrugated and thick sand roads. But jeep track and single track no problems. Best purchase in a long time, will sell, road bike soon, I got very board on the road. Changed few things, and will continue to improve to suite my riding style.
  8. I've sold many bicycles and frames over last 15 years and if anything more than R5000, I make sure to get full ID, company, address that actually shows he works there. And i get them to take bike or frame to legit Cycling shop and then courier will collect it there. Friend off mine lost his snazzy Scott road bike that ways R35000 gone, money was in his bank and next day payment was reversed. Bank was not very helpful in getting his money back.
  9. This new one is a very bad replica to the original one I had many years ago https://www.norco.com/timeline/img/photos/1973.jpg
  10. I bought a Momsen R 355 one Carbon gravel, and I can't wait to take it for a spin this weekend, should be here before end today. Order it from EVO bikes they had special on during lock-down R25999.00. That was the cheapest place I could find everywhere else more than that. I'v been using my road-bike to ride gravel, just a bit to bumpy with the skinny tires. Hopefully the wider tires a bit more comfortable. We have lots off options here in Nelspruit for gravel riding. Anyone else bought one? If you have give some feedback on the ride review.
  11. I agree with you on that point off new tech and then every second rider wants it and nothing else. Marketing very clever.
  12. Cool thanks, I see they prefer to fit boosted more to trail bike as it would make more sense.
  13. Hi there, I see lots off marketing hype about Boosted and non-Boosted Frames and components. Please explain the technical side off it and where is it applied to. Also on which bikes will this make the most difference? We not all bike mechanics so for those in the industry enlighten us that do not know.
  14. I've been riding to work , and its better now with less traffic around, there is a very slim change off getting infected if you ride or train alone. So I'm all for training outside.
  15. Jip going out at 4:30 no traffic and less people, so its sort off isolation ride alone. No contact with people just myself, fortunately our company working through this time. We part off the food packaging supply network, that needs to keep going.
  16. It took less than a month, I paid R1310 for the watch and about R28 for post office fee. Just before this one I ordered a similar one on Wish, and you don't always receive it, due to theft at Airports. It was only R465 and does same feature so I'm wearing the cheapy that works better than the T- watch
  17. I open link and bought the T-watch, when I got it, it's not the same as advertised. https://www.tact-watch-store.com/twatchv2.php?gclid=Cj0KCQiAtrnuBRDXARIsABiN-7BJIdORFIHcQs3qKOxJA0vZZAjemtmr4iSksLrqWBxqtxJNWsU1mccaAhEnEALw_wcB This is the real one from original website. Trying to get my money back, googled T-watch and its not same as advertised. See website it shows 2 different ones same page, looks like they sent they sent me the cheap one. Make sure before buying these things, very seldom you get what they promised you.
  18. Great results by Local riders! Thanks for the results.
  19. I was so frustrated while I was watching the ladies and mens Mountain bike Marathon Championship race on Saturday! The camera guy was on a E-bike and kept on going backwards, instead off covering the race at the front pack! I would think with such a prestigious race the would be camera's everywhere. Only footage off the front off the race was from helicopter that was way to high to see anything. Even the Cape-Epic has better camera work than Worlds! Good to see Pauline got the stripes as World Champ! Who got the mens Title?
  20. For sure. I do have both Road and 29er full suspension carbon bicycles. Just keep it simple.
  21. I've been cycling serious since 2000 so for last 5 years no stats no info and I feel less attched by what my computer tells me to do. I cycled to school when I was young, on a old "Dikwiel" bicycle, back then was young and strong. I used to race the sponsored guys from the mining companies back then on my way home.
  22. Funny enough, it's the rider weight and fitness that makes the biggest difference in cycling. having a light bike is just a bonus.
  23. Mine weighs in at 12 Kg on the dot, brand new built. Includes pedals and bottle cages. Not the lightest but, decent number for less than 35K
  24. Riding with no cycling computers and fancy power meter, do you support it and why do you do it? I just got tired off trying to beat the PB and stats in general. For me it's about riding to enjoy, to know your body and still race hard without the gadgets telling us to slow down. Ride how you feel!
  25. This Is normally how retail works: So they decide they need to get rid off old or excessive stock, they add a new higher price on the item, and on same label mark it down to original or slightly lower price, as not to loose their original aimed price profit. And then they advertise it as a sale price. Clever, but no one knew the price off the item before the sale, so best not to care to much about the marketing lie, rather shop around and get best price you can get. Best advice, only go for "Sale" items if you knew the price before it was relabeled with mark-up price and sale tag.
