I agree with this - it was also my assumption about the problem. Get your bike shop to check the rear hub internals. It sounds like the freehub bearings might be done, or just need cleaning and regreasing.

I thought the problem was with my trainer?! I'm using an Elite Suito with MyWhoosh. With the latest update (about 2-3 days ago), my connection to the trainer struggled to connect and stay connected. It could intermittently see the Suito, but it just failed to establish a consistent connection. I assumed my trainer's firmware update a while ago had gone badly. I got so frustrated after 20 minutes of trying, I threw in the towel and cycled outside much better

Yes, exactly what I had. I moved from the Ikons to Maxxis Rekon Race's, in 2.4. They still roll really well, but give enough grip for marathons and moderate trail riding.

Ok, according to the Race Register on the website, there were about 930 teams starting the Epic in 2025. Of those, the 477 teams have finished today's Stage 3 so far, on the live Results page. Almost exactly 50% so far. Is that correct? Pages and pages of Individual Finishers and DNF's. Latest finish time was about 7hrs 50 mins.

And how brilliant was Luke on Sunday in the Cycle Tour?! Wow, incredible. What a talent. He reminds me of when I first saw Alan Hatherly ripping up the Stellenbosch XCO course at nationals about 5 years ago.

That said, there were long sections between Robertson and Bonnievale where the group was taking up almost the entire road. And the side-on breeze was causing everyone to move to the right side of the road, seeking shelter.
