  1. Shout out to Dominic and Summit for a great experience! I purchased a chainring on Summit. Firstly, the price was equal lowest on the market, so that's great. The courier delivery fee was very reasonable, R50 less than cycle lab. Got all the necessary email comms, tracking etc. And it arrived less than 24 hours after purchasing. What a great experience.
  2. This is incredible. I can't even fathom how far that is. You make the Cape peninsula (108km loop) look like a short warmup ride next to your loop above. What is that, like 400+ km ??
  3. No mention of the new Aelus Pro 51 wheelset? Which cost half as much as the top end RSL wheels here.
  4. What are you talking about?? What's wrong with this?:
  5. Fantastic pictures. Makes me really want to do this!
  6. I can't answer to the 12 speed Sunrace cassettes. But I do have an 11spd 11-46 sunrace (black sprockets & red spider) on my anthem and it works excellently. No problem with shifts at all. It far beat out the old Shimano 11-42 that came with my bike, in terms of shift gaps and gear range.
  7. Update: Stellenbosch and Jonkershoek today:
  8. It was only a matter of time. Its on the Bikehub home page now.
  9. haha wow, I didn't notice that. And this picture is nothing close to any of the stock builds, groupset aside. Not sure what CL is trying to sell here...
  10. I present the Vanquish Team (no pricing indicated yet):
  11. Frame: Carbon Road Frame With 12mm Thru Axle Fork: Carbon Road With Thru Axle Groupset: Shimano 105 2 X 11 Fsa Omega 52/36t Brakes: Tektro C510 Mechanical Disc With 160mm Rotors Wheels: Road Da30 Disc Tires: Vittoria Rubino 700 X 25c Black Folding 150tpi G+ F/V BikeHub is getting their press release ready still?
  12. So I see Titan Racing has just released what looks like a new aero road bike, the Vanquish (Comp) 2021: Its available at BikeAddict and CycleLab, for R32k and R34k respectively (though the Reynolds deep section carbons are a mistake, I think? Not at that price) Its not even on the Titan website yet. Oops, here it is.

  14. Nicky, the bibs look really good, from the little I can see. But on your site, there is only 1 image. And almost no details. Can you give some more details about the construction, paneling, chamois, grippers etc? And more pics
  15. These guys were in my grade with me at school. And that black, blue and silver Anthem is the same as my bike this hits too close to home, for all the wrong reasons
  16. Agreed with TDFN and Diesel above, I run my Barzo on the front at 1.4 bar (20 PSI), and my Maxxis Ikon at 1.5 (22 PSI) on the rear. I love the tyre, has a decent blend of grip in our dry, rocky WC conditions, relatively fast rolling, and no issues with cuts or punctures in about 3 years of running them.
  17. So it's not that nowadays you get a discount by buying the whole bike complete (since the manufacturer gets all sorts of OEM bulk pricing. Seems to be that you now pay a premium for the privilege having a manufacturer put it all together for you. Reminds me of that article about that S-works Epic Evo custom build, where it came out lighter, more aggressive and cheaper than the full-fat S-works on retail for R199k. https://bikerumor.com/2020/08/20/fair-wheel-bikes-builds-19-8lb-specialized-epic-evo-for-less-money-than-s-works/
  18. Google Chrome doesn't let me download the GPX files, says it appears to be malicious? Had to use MS Edge browser instead.
  19. The Pulse carbon looks spot on for XC / marathon / trail use. 29mm internal is right on the money, as is the sub 1500g weight. Chapeau! Wish I had the money for a pair of these. This is brilliant, well done Dayle!

  21. What he asked ^ what is the extension given? Is it like the Wild Card, where they give you the time you lost during lockdown, which could be 1 - 3 months?
  22. Its says AXS, and you can see the battery knob sticking off the rear derailleur .. so yes. Must have made Cannondale execs pretty unhappy to have held this one back during launch, waiting for Sram to announce the 10-52 Eagle cassettes. Remember everyone asking Where is the top-shelf model?
  23. Wow, what an incredible route! Breathtaking views, literally, amazing singletrack, tough as hell. Agreed, the waterpoints were stocked with all the food, energy drink and ice water you could want. Excellent organisation. Did a lot better this year than last, which was a great feeling. Much better pacing this year, so I finished much fresher, if I can use that word. The camaraderie between riders was also great, I gotta say. It was a great vibe all around. But heck its tough hey, definitely a main contender for toughest single day of racing in SA. Well done to all who finished.
  24. Already paid my R360 for the 99er, so tough luck I suppose
