  1. I just got one a week ago. I'm loving my FR 55. It has all the main sport functions I need, for cycling, swimming, and of course running. It does have more detailed metrics for running, but still does everything I need for cycling. Yeah, it controls the music on my phone perfectly (Android, Spotify), if you need that. And notifications (but I turned mine off - I hate getting work notifications while out riding). I think for 3 grand, you can't get better.
  2. You'll need to say what crank you have, and what BCD (bolt circle diameter) it uses. Sram direct? Shimano? 11 / 12 speed ? Like my mtb has a Shimano round (symmetrical) 104mm BCD.
  3. And here it is on the Bulls website, the Bulls Wild Edge Team: Funny sizing though: the "54 cm" is more like an XL.
  4. That's a seriously good looking bike! Geometry is modern, pivots are wide and stiff, colours are ... bold Looks the business. I'd love to try the 120mm version of the Cypher. I actually like how the grips are well used and dirty, as opposed to some of the other pros who get new grips every single stage, it looks like.

    Medals at events

At the Piketberg MTB race, they give out tin mugs on a riempie. I still use mine for every camping trip Trying to find a picture...
  6. That's brilliant, well done and enjoy it! I was also fortunate enough to win entries to W2W in past years. I wouldn't have done it otherwise. I thoroughly enjoyed all of it.
  7. Yes, I was part of this mess as well. I was supposed to start in B, but I decided to drop back to start with 1D. Our group got combined with 2D, and then they started us about 25 minutes late, after 2A, 2B and 2C. So the whole group was just passing the slower seeded groups in front of us the whole race. It was a real mess in D this year. I felt bad for the poor ladies trying their best to marshall us, when they were getting (bad) instructions from from the central organisers.
  8. Except, as usual, the slog from Ocean View / Kommetjie to Noordhoek. That's normally straight into a head wind. At least we get pushed up Smitswinkel climb to Cape Point..
  9. Sorry to hear that, I hope you get the money back. I bought my Hoka Speedgoat 4's from Runbeatable, on special. They were good to deal with.
  10. Ok, I get that. I have nothing against lower-end Shimano. Used to use that for years myself. But on a R60k bike, how much extra would it have cost to spec 12 spd Deore instead? As OEM with buying power, wouldn't it add about R4k vs the Alivio spec? I know they're trying to hit a price point, but it always makes me think, regarding relative pricing, if you're paying R60k already, the extra spec you can get for a little more... (this isn't a R20k Signal basic hardtail)
  11. Then you're not going to be happy with this Spez: The Tero 3.0 seems to be specced with Alivio 9 speed, according to international sites ☹️ The pics above are of the higher-end 5.0 model.
  12. 100%. Around the price of the new Titan E-bike hardtails. I haven't compared the specs yet, but I suspect there may slightly lower spec here with the Big S than the equivalently-priced Titan.
  13. Ok, so the Covid19 Vaccine survey has gone out to CT Cycle Tour entrants today. But there are only options for "Fully Vaccinated", "Not Vaccinated" and "I'd rather not say". And Other, with text input. Fail What do you select if you've only had 1 shot of 2? You're not fully vaccinated yet. Other, I suppose? Or does "fully" imply any 1 shot? Bad design. They're going to get messy responses.
  14. What on Earth, 1B at 6:32 ?? What did I do to deserve that? ???? Ouch, not enough training for that. Especially if they try break up the big bunches, as they communicated. If the early start groups are as closely spaced as previous years, like 3 - 5 minute gaps, then we'll still have some big bunches form up Nelson Mandela Blvd to Hospital bend.
  15. This looks really great. I already have a couple of Ryder products, they really punch above their weight class. Well done Ryder team.
  16. Gorgeous scenery, lovely pictures. Makes me really want to get out there and do that myself. On me MTB, of course ????
  17. And no other riders came up to congratulate Anna Kiesenhoffer after the race. Nobody knew. She was standing there all by herself after the race. So weird to see it like this!
  18. In her post-race interview on BBC, Lizzie Deignan stated that she thought the best lady won today, Annemiek van Vleuten ???? The peleton (and the Dutch) really didn't know that Kiesenhoffer won.
  19. Cuz the folks on here who're struggling to understand R200k - R250k for the top end bikes are not the same folks buying these from the shops.
  20. Beautiful area and pics. The bakkie advertorial is a bit strong for the BikeHub tho The Cederberg is still on my to-cycle list, but I've stayed and hiked there in the past. I'd like more close ups of the bike, pleez
  21. Ah no, not Porte. I found the rider Good quiz
  22. Richie Porte?
  23. Hayley Preen, the new national champ? Great all-rounder, I think.
  24. I would say I ride in the XC / light trail categories, and I'm 74kg. I run a Maxxis Ikon EXO 2.2 rear, and Vittoria Barzo TNT 2.25 front. I love the Ikon on the back, especially at the appropriate lowish pressures. Barzo on the front is pretty good, relatively lightweight, but I think there's better out there. I think I'll go for 2.35 front and back when I buy my next tires.
  25. Gawd damnit, I forgot about the geo-blocking Wasn't that only for Worlds?
