  1. +1 for Backabuddy... Used it for a charity Kilimanjaro climb and raised double my goal. Good to hear from you again Frail...
  2. 1.Option 4 but please check that the script on the side of the shorts doesn't clash with the script on the side panels on the shirt 2.As much white as possible for the heat 3.Must be full zip 4.Good quality "shammy" (First Ascent Revolution etc)
  3. I don't think the title is misleading. I ordered on the site, waited 7 days, phoned and was told the Rudi Project Swifty glasses were not available in the colour I wanted and would I still want it but in a different colour. I requested that they cancel the order, refund my money and I went down the road to Northcliff cycles. The site said 3 to 5 working days. Gave them a try and they failed, I'll continue buying from CWC (only reason I didn't just buy these glasses from CWC in the first place is that whilst they stock certain Rudy Project styles they don't stock the Swifty)
  4. Kenda Small Block 8 also worth a look, light, rolls fast and grips as good as the Race King in my experience.
  5. Rest in Peace Carla. Condolences to the Swart family, hope you find the strength to get through this unbearably difficult time.
  6. For anyone interested in the actual weights of the 2011 Specialized mountain bike ranges click on the link below. http://www.bikerumor.com/2010/07/15/2011-specialized-mountain-bikes-actual-weights/
  7. I thought we had a standing arrangement to ride every Sunday morn..lol I'm keen on a 3 hour ride Crasher. If no-one else pitches we can just use this as a "scouting for routes" ride. Can we leave earlier though, say 06h30?
  8. For all the guys and girls in JHB (not sure if any of their other branches are participating), Cycle Lab in Fourways have demo Trek Gary Fisher 29" hard and softails that can be ridden to the MTN Bike Park and put through their paces. No cost...no obligations... Why not give it a try, then your comments will be made from first hand experience.
  9. Niel, you're killing us here...we need a full report back...pretty please...?
  10. Koukie I've ridden a 26" hard and 26" softail for many years and recently bought a 29" dual sus and can honestly say without any hesitation that for my riding style (predominantly XC, average 50km rides) the 29" DS is the best bike I've ever had the pleasure of riding. The only advice I can offer to anyone else considering a 29'er (dual and I suppose the same would apply for a HT) is to take into account that at some point you will need to buy a light wheelset to compensate for the larger size wheels. After a few rides on the standard wheels that came with the bike I decided to invest in a set of "Race" wheels and bought the Stans ZTR Race 29'er wheelset (1380 g) which is actually lighter than my Mavic Ksyrium ES road wheels (1465g), ...amazing! Anyway hope this helps.
  11. Wow Niel, very well done! How about some details, total distance, average speed, kilometers per day, route taken, bike parts used, close shaves (hopefully none), before and after photo's... etc etc etc I'd love to one day do a ride like this.
  12. Really enjoyed the ride today, thanks everyone. Weather turned out to be perfect, route was great and it seems we all got home safe (albeit with sore legs...lol)
  13. Had this exact discussion earlier today actually Jens and Fabian (in that order)
  14. I'm in Crasher. See you at 7 on Sunday morning at the Strubens Virgin carpark.
  15. Christoff from CWC has consistently given me better service than ANYONE else in any of my local bike stores and that's a fact. Call him.
  16. Please post when the next ride is planned and I'll join you guys. Safety in numbers... (Thanks for the earlier PM Crasher)
  17. Sincere condolences to the Brown family, I hope you find the strength to deal with this tragedy, especially during this time of the year. R.I.P.
  18. Looks like it's clearing up on the West Rand, I'll be heading out soon. Hang in there Agent...I know how frustrating it is wasting a perfectly good opportunity (like New Years Day) to ride!
  19. I'd like to join you guys for the next group ride from Welties (or surrounds) please PM me if I miss the thread. ...and happy new year, may all your sub 3 hour dreams come true on 2011! See u on the road (or dirt, I'm smiling either way)
