It's old, but: 70% of the Earth is covered by water, the rest by Kante.

Don't think the shop's open at the moment...

Is he going to pay the players GBP0.00000000000003 per appearance? It's utter bollox. Kroenke is carved from the same material as the Glazers. He's not going to sell. As a caveat, I can't stand Arsenal and generally wish them the very worst. But good luck in the Thursday night final (if they get there).
  4. Current Affairs? This is an odd place to vent about a second hand purchase. Unless it was bought from a major political figure...
  5. The labour costs should be claimed by the LBS from the supplier/manufacturer of the faulty part. The customer should in no way have to carry any cost pertaining to a warrantee replacement.
  6. This is good, that bloke in the red hat's not bad (litotes in action).
  7. You probably have a copy of an ID. I would doubt it is the actual person's document.
  8. One of the few covers Zappa did. From Does Humor Belong in Music. Frank looks rather pleased, and so he should. Nominative determinism alert: the drummer is Chad Wackerman.
  9. Get checked for concussion as soon as possible. If you haven't already of course.

I love Julian Ryder I really miss his commentary. One of my favourites was when the forward facing camera on the tailpiece caught the sun shining between Rossi's legs as he wheelied after winning. "There's the proof, the sun does indeed shine out of Rossi's behind" Or words to that effect. Bloody brilliant. Edit: typo.
  11. The back pages of the British music press in the early eighties was a rich source of odd band names. Anal Fleas being one of the more memorable...

If you have an interest in what makes comedians tick. Have a listen to the Comedian' Comedian podcast with Stuart Goldsmith. It goes back about 8 years. It can get a bit "What's your process" at times but it's not bad.

There are people who think "The Pub Landlord" is a real person. Al Murray also has a drum manufacturing business. He's a pretty good drummer.
  15. This made me laugh much more than it should have done. "200 Proofs Earth is not a Spinning Ball".
  16. Looks more like a scrap in Shoreditch when the pubs were still open.

Vic & Bob. Incomparable. The Stotts interview Sting and more surreal madness.
  18. Bomber found on Moon, Bus at the South Pole. A short article remembering The Sport. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/media/press/headline-you-can-believe-sport-closes-2260126.html
  19. Don't worry about your bike falling apart if you've used the correct torque settings. As an example, I had a severe front wheel tuck and high side. My helmet cracked and I was severely concussed. By bike was fine, nothing bent or came off. The items designed to move instead of snapping in case of a structural event moved. I'd like to think it was because I'd built and serviced it using specified torque settings.
  20. A one inch drive? What do you work on, combine harvesters? A half inch drive torque wrench with reducers to 3/8" and 1/4" should cover most eventualities. Although the torque range on most 1/2" inch drive tools does not go low enough for bikes. You would probably need a smaller wrench to get the low value adjustability. I have a 1/2" drive heavy duty unit which goes from 20 - 250Nm; a smaller 3/8" drive unit adjustable from 20 - 120Nm with high accuracy and a small 1/4" drive, adjustable from 2.5 - 20Nm also highly accurate. The big one was about GBP400 and the other two around GBP200 each. All made by Garant, a fairly specialised German manufacturer. They are refugees from my previous employer...
  21. Here's an oft quoted text: The current legislation on e-bikes extends to Notice 77 of 2015 to the NATIONAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1996 (ACT NO.93 OF 1996). It states that by the substitution for the definition of "pedal cycle" of the following definition: ""pedal cycle" means any bicycle or tricycle designed for propulsion solely by means of human power, or any bicycle or tricycle with operable pedals and an electric motor providing a maximum net power output of 250 watts. The electric motor may not be capable of propelling the bicycle or tricycle unassisted at a speed exceeding 25km/h on a level surface". Further, the South African Bureau of Standards with the SANS 311/2007 standard specifies a Category L vehicle as a vehicle that does not require a license. Included in category L vehicles is a vehicle with maximum continuous rated power of 0,25 kW, of which the output is progressively reduced and finally cut off as the vehicle reaches a speed of 25 km/h, or sooner. In summary, South African legislation has only made significant provision for E-bikes that are bicycles with pedals, have continuous power not exceeding 250watt and do not exceed 25km/h.
  22. Here's a pic of the components of a new BB. I think it's the right one. It's not a complicated unit. It's from here: https://www.sportsmith.com/bottom-bracket-kit-fits-certain-star-trac-indoor-cycles/product/P038004030?serial=3209
  23. That's a bummer. A square taper extractor is a fairly inexpensive tool. If you are mechanically minded removing the bearings and sourcing replacements shouldn't be too difficult. If you have the time and inclination of course. I would be inclined to ask for some recompense considering you were not informed about the defect.
  24. Check this out, I was looking for a spinning bike after a hip replacement and came across this bloke. The first section may give you motion sickness but stick with it, the info about the bottom bracket is interesting. I bought an IDT instead.
