  1. All depends on how busy I am slaughtering my competition during rides. Live would be nice, drone takes and multiple angles would guarantee me eating dinner in front of the screen.
  2. Feed them to the crocodiles... It seems thats exactly the intention of the Hub mob, the only disagreement seems to be the timing thereof, during or after the event?
  3. Routing is only required once, the cable housing does not take a beating and friction is not really an issue here. Replacing a cable using the existing housing is straight forward. With a dropper fit and forget is the name of the game. Invest in a quality post from OneUp or Reverb. Preferably an easy serviceable (no propriety tools!) one is the best. The remote droppers are at best ugly and at worst f.. ugly
  4. If you're unable to index the gears yourself then even R1000 plus is cheap. Whatever keeps rubber on the road I say. The bike wash - cost of being lazy
  5. I love driving a Prado to the trail head, at least one thing searching for gears more than me! 🙃
  6. On the money! One Up is probably best value for money for something that will last. All out winner is Bike Yoke Revive. The play getting progressively worse and replacing blown catridges will eventually drive you to a R5k+ upgrade
  7. Brakes - install some larger rotors. Maybe swop front to back and buy larger one for the front
  8. Mix bag of parts. Before buying a proper check-over is called for Frame dates to early 2000's https://www.cyclist.co.uk/in-depth/bike-history-giant-tcr Check advertisements for TCR bikes on the hub. Some great specials that rivals the above.
  9. Glad you're ok Phone - maybe a blessing since they had what they wanted
  10. The day will come when the male variety will also be included in this line-up. Similar to the TdF podium Monster = marketing spend. On ode to consumerism I guess
  11. Correction, his surname starts with a "D" ; )
  12. At least your kid have an excellent role model in Greg Minnaar. I watched him cleaning a podium Norco bike himself. He truely understands what it takes to become successful in a sport which is by no means a money spinner.
  13. From a car review (latest Volvo) in Sunday Times, the reviewer applauded the self driving functionalities of the car since most South Africans "multi-task" behind the steering wheel these days. Multi-task se gat man
  14. https://www.bikemag.com/news/aaron-gwin-wins-chainless Who needs a chain?
  15. From the bikehub market.Cut the stem, replaced the seat post, fitted old seat and here it is!
  16. Intense is pulling out from the EU to focus on turnaround in their N/American market. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/intense-cycles-pauses-online-sales-and-distribution-in-europe-to-stabilise-north-american-business.html
  17. You obviously own a Zeb! I would add: When inflating the air chamber, stop a 1/3 of the way and cycle the fork through its suspension a few times (to charge the negative air), do this 1 x more before reaching your target pressure. For the first ride, ride wirh the shock pump, if you're not getting full travel deflate 5 psi at a time.
  18. I got a new one (nogal solar) at CycleLab for less than R7k However, no bar of soap included in the sale
  19. No idea what you're talking about, being mature and all
  20. I did the part of FC sometime ago. From Rhodes to whenever. It was a last minute hook-up with some cyclist with an open spot. I loved the farm stop visits on the way, ended up spending more time on two farms playing catch-up to the others (all very social riders). Obviously we used GPS to track each other. Lots of fun, I will recommend it to all. At the same token I will also recommend CE (also from experience). Same goes for Sani2C, etc., etc. I guess I like cycling
  21. Have been doing this for two years now. If you choose one of these Nokia R250 models the battery last forever, call are cheap, mobile companies doesn't steal your airtime (convert airtime to data) and airtime does not expire (you have to use some of the airtime at least once a month).
  22. https://www.identityguard.com/news/risks-of-using-mobile-banking-apps On your device: Someone could steal your phone and access your account A lost or stolen phone can become a nightmare. But it’s especially harrowing if you’re a mobile banking user. Most people save account passwords on their phones or even stay logged into services like their email accounts. If scammers steal your phone, they can bypass all of your banking app’s security features. A scammer could request a new password for your bank app (and access it through your email) and then bypass the protection of your multi-factor authentication code (MFA) when it’s sent to your phone. This scam is even easier for criminals to execute if you save your passwords in your mobile browser (or notepad), don’t lock your phone, and don’t use biometric security like fingerprint ID. Ultimately, application security doesn’t mean much if you get scammed or your phone gets stolen.
  23. Since this is a bicycle related site I would have guess a BICYCLE will be the weapon of choice!? Suppose the three-star's pocket are deeper...
  24. Lousy writing - no direct mention of suspension travel, just "up-to 140 front and 10 more at back. Sign of marketing *** obsession with annual bike line-up renewal? The latter not aimed at Trek specifically.
