  2. will he be putting LOOK pedals on there?
  3. I've had quite a few dodgy calls for the frame I'm selling. They all operate the same way, and will want to deposit the cash before even seeing the item. As soon as that happens alarm bells should start ringing. The one guy phoned and asked how I would like to be paid. I said to him cash, he said no its dangerous to drive with all that cash from the west rand, and he'll deposit a cheque. I said thats cool there's plenty of banks walking distance from where i work, I'll walk there with him if he's afraid. He said eish, he'll get back to me....
  4. I'm no expert on hardtails, but while I waited for my frame (soft tail) i had a loan bike from Trek. Was a carbon hardtail 9.9 and i must say i was blown away with that frame. Climbed like a demon and was rock solid on the descents. Not sure what they go for but I was really impressed with it

  6. Is this a "he" friend or a "she" friend?
  7. Its sad for me to see supporters of other SA teams say they hate the Bulls?? Come on people, get a life, theres better things in life to hate than a sports team. If any other SA team plays a foreign team, support the SA team. Where's your patriotism? Anyway, as the saying goes :"They see me rolling, they a hatin"........... he he he, go Bulls!!!!!!!!!! Now for those Crusaders on sat, I'll be there in blue screaming my lungs out
  8. eish, be carefull what you whish for.................... ja, I'm a little bit more confused than when i started but I also have allot more info to my disposal. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Dont think the spez will come into the equation. They're awesome machines but if i wanted a (dare i say)common bike I wouldve kept the Trek. I'm looking for something a bit more exotic, so i think I've narrowed it down to the Pivot and the Yeti. They both seem to be good choices and I'm sure that with my skill level the difference in suspension type will be negligible What concerns me most about the Pivot is the fact that they are very new, and very new in the country, and there has been some eyebrows raised at the backup I can expect from CL. Where as the Yeti has a proven track record and superb backup through MSC. Thanks for all your input, I think the best will be to organize a test ride on both these machines and then make up my mind.... zeepee2009-05-15 07:24:10

  16. A friend of mine() is looking at these two bikes (frames only, he's got the parts to whack on there) and cant make up his mind. In your opinion which is the better buy, and give reasons please? 1) Santa Cruz Superlight http://www.bikemagic.com/news/images/ib06_superlight_side_lo.jpg 2)Pivot Mach 4 http://reviews.mtbr.com/interbike/files/2007/09/img_5578.jpg The Pivot is the more expensive of the two (by some margin) but is it really that much better? Can you compare the two, or are they in different leagues? Your input will be appreciatedzeepee2009-05-11 09:40:23
  17. seriously guys, I've tried everything on the market and Prepsol is still the best. Spray it on your bike, leave it for 5mins. Hose your bike down, job done. Even the worst sticky mud just falls off. I can get Prepsol in 25l drums for R300, pm me if you're interested
  18. Let me just go and ask my girlfriend................................... She uses Prepsol, she also washes my offroad bike with it and its works the best
  19. i seriously doubt if that was filmed in Edinburgh, i mean the sun is shining in some of those clips

  22. if anything, mtb is ahead of mx. i read an article in the latest dirt, they had an interview with bob fox from fox racing shocks, and he said that they use lots of technology form mtb in the mx stuff. very interesting article. Interesting, I find it hard to think that way but Im sure it can be true and vice versa. So would you for example have mid-stroke harshness and for the top riders would you set your race sag on the rear and does oil heights and oil weights along with internals make a difference? It was interesting for me to see that my FOX has oil on the one side and air on the other. You would think that having different mediums would give different damping. But it obviously works for them. Interesting that MTB would be ahead of offroad in the suspension dept, surely the MX guys have been in the game longer than the mtb guys? Colonel do you think your sag would have such a big influence on your MTB than on your MX bike?
  23. I just washed my bike for tomorrow's ride, and saw there is no pressure in the shock. I can completely compress it with no effort. Its a Magura shock. Is it something small i can sort out at the shop tomorrow morning? Can i just lock it out and ride like that, or will i cause further damage? Hope there's someone online that can help. Thanks
