  1. Htone is a diagnosed T2D, I believe it was DaleE that had the cardiac problems.
  2. Maybe I'm just being naive but looking at those photos it seems like the ugly "halves" are somewhat edited versions of the person on their worst day. Or not even the same person, I find it hard to believe that make-up can transform a person to this extent. http://img.izismile.com/img/img6/20130408/640/beautiful_stars_who_are_average_plain_janes_in_real_life_640_17.jpg
  3. Also on the flip side, they'd probably be more Omega-6 enriched than anything else. Besides, ALA is a very poor source of O-3 since the body needs to "attempt" to convert it to the relevant form through a very intricate and complex process which means that it is not a guaranteed O-3 source.
  4. Majority of those commenters have completely missed the point, it wasn't published as fact, simply as a finding that is meant to be thought provoking.
  5. Happy to report that my IBS has passed and I can drink milk again. A lot (not all) of the free range stuff is grass fed BUT are fed grain at the end to fatten them up. Can't remember where I read this. So it is actually hard to say what's what when it comes to meat because one doesn't really know.

  7. By rotating, everything wears at the same rate. By replacing the chain when worn, one goes from new to worn to new to worn... which isn't consistent in terms of interfacing with the chain rings and cassette and thus wears it faster (to what extent, I don't know, it might even be negligible.)
  8. I'm a lightweight, so that is one of the reasons it lasts so long. But at the end of the day I still need to fork out to replace the drivetrain every year due to the mileage I do.
  9. How long is a piece of string? You should have just replaced the link on the chain that broke. Wear and tear varies greatly between everyone, factors that play a big role are terrain, chain maintenance, cross chaining, gear ratios you ride, your weight... As for me, 10 000km on a cassette, derailleur pulleys and big chain ring, 7000km or so on the small chain ring and 3700km per chain (I replace to reduce wear on other drivetrain components.)
  10. Not really ideal if there is a car tailgating the Volvo, like many of our road users do. It might prevent a collision with a cyclist but it might create one from behind with another vehicle. That being said, I'm sure Volvo would have some measure in place to prevent that.
  11. It is in the region of 65g per 100g
  12. That's the best part, it isn't a prank! That is actual bread that they received. I came across this yesterday which lead me to the video, http://www.dietdoctor.com/give-low-carb-frauds-julian-bakery-deserve Reading this website (http://low-carb-scams.com/offending-companies/the-bernie-madoff-of-the-low-carb-scam-artists/) which was created to expose 'Julian Bakery' it seems like the "bakery" change the recipes regularly and this video was the outcome of one of the changes they made.
  13. Off topic but I thought it was quite funny, supposed low carb bread.

  15. They are very easy to service, you need two 6802 bearings. Very easy to get at about R70 max for the pair and even easier to replace yourself. The FWB on the other hand is a little trickier as you can't get the job done without a bearing press.
  16. One needs to remove the brake calliper in order to remove the front wheel as it comes off horizontally with a Lefty.

  24. Here is an interesting piece on carbs for those of us that aren't strict LCHF from Mark's Daily Apple. It's about the variety and quantities of carbs, worth a read. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/starch-fallback-food-or-essential-nutrient/
