    Tour of Oman

Looking forward to some climbing today and seeing the sprinters removed from the GC
  2. Ooo Formula 1, you have been missed!!!
  3. Yeah I've experienced this before, but otherwise I uploaded from my Garmin this morning without any issues.

    Argus 2014

Isn't Cape Town a day behind the rest of the country?

Does the R360 for the second lap include free beer en route?

So basically, in a nutshell... If you are not seeded in elites for the Argus... It probably means you have not been winning pro races this season. Fair enough I guess
  8. True... At least the stop the bike and heck, the noise is far more effective than brake lights.
  9. Exactly what I'm going to do. My Elixir 7 have squeaked to the point that it causes vibration, and thats since they were brand new with no bike shop having been able to resolve it.

Heck, perhaps I'll have some dancers around...
  11. I've ridden with them on a Saturday morning but not sure of their weekday schedule. They are a fast bunch of toppies though.
  12. Nothing quite like that 4am pre-race force feeding
  13. This is an awesome race! Lot's of climbing (over 2.5km elevation gain on stage 1 and 3). However, it's definitely possible on a 11/25 with normal crank. Drink recovery drinks after stages, take ass cream and go for leg massages

Great, a sub 4 is all I'm look looking for

Bit of a ripoff that if you ask me. Isn't there a way to do an unofficial partial second loop and jump across from Fishhoek to Chappies? That sounds like much better value for money!!!

Never mind all this fast group / slow group talk, I'll just take a nice calm windless Cape Town day on 8 March... Too much to ask for?

Ozzie you old fart, Just because the VA's have given you and your A-group buddies a hiding in every race this season, don't get loud here

If you have a car, perhaps you should also drive down to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and ride those roads. It's an incredible area that you must try see.

Yes, ride from Camps Bay towards Hout Bay and along Chapmans peak (which is the race route in reverse), and turn around and return to Camps Bay. Well that's what I do at least. Perhaps the Cape Town locals have more routes to suggest for you.

Welcome to what will most certainly be a great experience for you. Okay the answers to the best of my knowledge: - You will find your seeding group by going to racetec.co.za then "My Profile" then "My Events / Results". Your details and start time will be there. - SA does have a UCI licensed system which is used for the elite and vet groups including VA (30-29), VB (40-49) & VM (50+). I'm not sure how this is linked to any International system though. - The start group system this year has changed from previous years, but it does appear that the VA, VB, VM, A & elite woman groups will be small and start together. This will be a very fast group of around 250 cyclists one would assume. - The official start time is when the gun goes. - I would expect the group to stick together for the first 40km or so, yes.

Same with me, also VA to B... I think we need to split the B group wheel suckers off and join the guys such as Reece and Madlight in making a select "breakaway".

Could someone also explain how VA, VB, VM, A & elite woman are all set to start at the same time... That could be CRAZY!
  23. Well done Louis! This guy is the real deal and as far as South African grand tour GC contenders are concerned, he is a star in the making.
  24. My thoughts exactly... Next thing people will say that Quintana shouldn't have been the TdF King of the mountain as he was best young rider and too young and so and so... Now I've always supported Daryl and really do feel for him after the cruel mechanical he suffered, but he sure has been whinging a lot since then (maybe due to hanging out with a team full of Aussies lately). This tweet is a sign of bad sportsmanship if you ask me. Imagine the second fastest rider wearing the champions jersey? Now that would be a farce.
  25. Yeah, my R4S and Argus times were within a minute of each other last year.
