  1. Hi hubbers I'm thinking about bringing on road rims 45-50/55mm. Ive got Hope Mono RS hubs to build them to. I've been browsing Lightbicycle(had them before) and Nextie. While on Nextie I see they've got a 2nd site; LightBicycleWheels. They offer free shipping and the rims look identical, I'd say. Anyone use them? https://www.lightbicyclewheels.com/ A set of rims with shipping works out about $200 cheaper than on nextie, only difference is no decals. What do you guys think?
  2. How did I miss this? Kiwi, order coming...
  3. Me 2 How do you guys plan to feed on stages 3 and 4?
  4. That dead wheel was golden!!!
  5. WP cycling had their EXCO AGM yesterday Lets wait to hear some more from them. The league/season is planning to start the 1st weekend in April already EXCITED MUCH!!!
  6. Hi Nick I've got a set of Hope RS4 hubs, 20/24 holes. What you you charge me for the Nextie 45mm (NXT45RC28) rim with spokes and build and to ship it back to CPT?
  7. So Im looking at fitting this crank https://www.merlincycles.com/rotor-2inpower-power-meter-with-rotor-chainrings-127964.html will this work?
  8. Hi Guys Does anyone know if the Giant TCR advanced frame can fit a Sram BB30 or Rotor crank that's got the 30mm axle? I'm in 2 minds as I'm hearing conflicting stories. I know that shimano 24mm fits everywhere basically but this now affecting my power meter/groupset choices. With an adapter (External cups) the BB30 crank should fit but now im worried the axle length not being long enough with the external cups Any help will be appreciated.
  9. My point exactly. But after almost 4 weeks of no riding I just wanted to get onto a damn bike!
  10. So I've signed the acceptance of loss and they're paying to replace the bike. Then I get a call to say that they won't be paying the money to me until I pay the R1100 inspection fee to the carbon repairer. I was totally unaware of any inspection fees until today. I paid it as im gatvol of this whole process now already FFS. Im so glad its done!!! Thank you Anton and Graeme for sharing some industry information, I'm sure I'm not the only one who learnt something from this thread!
  11. My Question exactly, still waiting for an answer
  12. If I was to cash out the repair amount on the whole bike (Frame, wheels, Shifters, pedals, derailleur) then I cannot even replace the frame as I'd still be about 20% short for the frame alone
  13. I do not have an issue with repaired frames BUT where my bike has broken is what I'm questioning. If it was a crack then I would think of doing a repair. But the way the headtube has basically snapped does not make me feel comfortable. This is my argument with them now, What happens in future if any further issues arise with the frame as I still have 3 years left of the manufacturer warranty but this is obviously void once the repair is done.
  14. Santam via PSG This has crossed my mind now. Its been radio silence since Friday, Ill be giving them a call tomorrow morning
  15. I sent them 2 reports and 2 replacement quotes from 2 shops. They then sent out an assessor who took the bike to a 3rd store. Someone at this store informed the assessor that this can be repaired and they got a quote from CBR. This store also gave a replacement quote along with the repair from CBR which they (the store) will be responsible for. This took about 2 weeks as you cannot buy a Chapter 2 off any shop floor and they needed to do more research. I am 100% sure that if said store had sold my bike, they would too never of recommended a repair but rather a replacement. BTW its Santam via PSG
  16. They got their quotation from him. If it was a smaller crack somewhere else on the frame I'd Be fine with the repair but not this frame with its damage. Also, what happens if i crack another section of the frame in a few months and then I'm unable to do a manufacturer warranty cos the frame has been worked on.
  17. Hi everyone I came off about 3 weeks ago hitting something in the shoulder and waking up off the side of the road. Bicycle took most of the damage as I only have some scrapes and scratches. So I've put in an insurance claim but now they want to repair the bicycle. I can use the brake calipers, crank, front derailleur, cassette and chain. The rest of the bike is damaged and both rims are dented or buckled. I am not comfortable with repairing the frame and I'd like to hear from the rest of you what you'd do Check the pics Top tube is cracked on 2 places and headtube is cracked almost right around. Visually there's no fork damage but I would think that either the steerer or the crown took a beating to be able to crack the headtube the way it did. Repairer is offering lifetime warranty on the work that they're going to do
  18. Currently on about 6-10 hours per week, including weekend long rides. Should I increase this or just the quality of the sessions. Just finished the 4day Heritage tour in Cat2, with racing for a team captain so I sacrificed myself for him and the team. TOGH i'll be racing for myself tho so things will be very very different. I also only did 2.5 stages of the 2018 TOGH so theres unfinished business...
  19. Nothing wrong with the route. My fitness is the issue
  20. Just checked the route.................... HOLY5H1t! Anyone want an entry?
  21. Any news on where he is going to?
