  2. Ok, I am done now. XTR shifts amazing!!!!
  3. Paypal, Landed, Taxed/Customs with FNB's small extra charge R6621.50/ set. Paid R13243 for both sets. Places like Flyxii have it much cheaper but then they only have 1 rim style for the 29er wheels and they only have 38mm and 50 or 55mm road. XMcarbonspeed was about $15 cheaper per rim but also only 38mm of 50mm for the road. I wanted a 45mm for road. I wanted to go wide and hookless for the 29. Paid June 13 to be exact and it was delivered today. PM me for any more info

  6. Would you go with a Hope MONO RS hubs as a budget hub? My more expensive option is the DT240s hubs. The DT is aout double the price though but I'll only be buying once Want to buy once and not again
  7. Hi David Which hub would you recommend for a road wheelset? Ive ordered a set of 45mm U shaped rims from light-bicycle. I will be using this as a racing wheel Thanks Mopkop
  8. There might even be another box en route :w00t: Super glad I included the sram chain for my road bike. The 1.0 on the checker fits into the old chain . Lets just say that the new chain is the length ofone whole link shorter than the old worn out chain
  9. I want to build a wheelset with 20/24 holes Fr/Rr, should I go with straight pull hubs(straight pull spokes) or normal hubs with the flange(J bend Spokes). Its a set for the road bike and I weigh about 70kgs. I would like to get the hubs but I need to choose between the 2 lacing patterns. I want a strong, racing wheelset Price on the hubs are about the same whether normal flanged hub or straight pull specific Thank you
  10. Just waiting on Evans to confirm stock of some things
  11. Hi A lot will depend on which supplier you go for. Flyxii is as follows frame: $390 "Dogma" Wheels: $358 "50mm clincher" Handle bar: $50 Clamp and post: $ 35 105 groupset from merlin $411 Fulcrum racing quattro with continental tyres from merlin $350 gives you $1594 is about R23 500. Prices include shipping, BUT dont forget to add 15.4% for tax and customs etc etc Youll need a saddle, bar tape and someone to do the build For an extra $200 you can get an Ultegra groupset. Choose an upper budget limit and stick to it. Otherwise things can get out of hand. Flyxii is one of the cheaper suppliers of frames and wheels. Been using my Flyxii 29er now for 2 years and shes all good
  12. Hey guys, Ive got vitality and multiply. Vitality only gets points from rides when I use my garmin but I dont ride everyday. My multiply pedometer does not work with vitality. Which device can I use as a pedometer that'll work on vitality? I dont mind carrying the multiply pedometer around as its small and I can slip it under my cycling shorts to get steps while I pedal too. My only issue is vitality Help asb, DANKIE
  13. Sorry to hear about your loss Stretch!
  14. Morning peoples Does anyone have knowledge on Basenjis? My better half would like to get one and all I know is Rottis and Boerboele Any help will be much appreciated
  15. I was worried yes but it does not affect the bladder inside the lever which i thought would possibly collapse under the suction force that the syringe is putting on the system but its all good cos the hole from the top of the lever where you add oil sits below said bladder so your "sucking" below the bladder. While having the chat about the XT's he told me that shimano are aware of an issue with the new M8000 brakes with heat being one of the major factors. They had apparently sent back 7 or 8 of the 10 sets they had sold recently and Shimano has got no issues with replacement. He was busy bleeding an older set of XTR brakes while I was there and the bleed port runs in a straight line with the hose input AND this port is above the hose input hence all the air will be sitting in the bleed port. That already makes a big difference as you know where the air is going. Glad I could be the test subject. I was on the verge of buying a new set of brakes, even had a mate show me a set of Guide Ultimates BUT R7000 is waaaaayyyyyyy too much for brakes!!
  16. Alls well now. No leaks on the hose, i think it was the lever that was leaking. I was @GECOCYCLES yesturday and had a chat with the tall mechanic, awesome guy for all the help and advice. He says the problem is with the XT caliper. The bleed nipple and hose are both on the same side of the caliper and with the way the caliper mounts the bleed port is always lower than than where possible air could be. When you gravity bleed theres not enough pressure to push this "air pocket" out. You need a big syringe to suck it out of the bleed port. Got myself a 50ml syringe and attached it to the bleed port, filled the funnel with oil and pulled quite hard on the syringe. There was a shiit load of air stil in the system even though i bled it numerous times yesturday. The brake is now solid, full of power. Really glad i went into Geco cycles yesturday. Defnetly my new LBS Thanks for all the advice and the diagram to strip the lever
  17. Just refitted everything and bled the system. All the air bubbles seem to be outa the system but alas still nothing. Absolutely no feeling, niks. The lever gets to the handle bar with only a very little resistance and the pistons in the caliper do move just a little bit. There was a swishy sound close to the caliper but then I bled again and that sound is now gone. Ill remove the BB this evening to check for any leaks on the hose. New hose and banjo is about R550 though...OUCH!!
