  8. Thanks for the replies guys. Whats your opinion on the ZEE VS SLX shifter? Should I get the 40T or the 42T "Bail out" gear? I'm sure this will allow me to run up to a 34T in the front to increase top speed. Looking forward to all the replies
  9. Hi guys I'm planning on going 1* very soon, I've got a few questions though. My current setup: 3*SLX crank 11-34 SLX 10sp cassette XT clutch derailleur I need to replace my cassette and I'm looking at getting an XT 11-36 cassette. The clutch derailleur will work as is. I want to keep my 32T middle ring and ride with it on the 1*setup I've got the following questions: Do I need to get a wide/narrow chainring? Do I need to look at getting the 40T or 42T gear to convert the cassette? I like climbing but I am not a power climber, I spin my way uphill. How much weight will I loose by removing the front shifter/2 chainrings/FD? Is there a performance difference between the ZEE shifter and my current SLX shifter? Do I use the chainring on the middle mount of my 3* crank? Thank you!!

  19. Sorry for such a late post. Spoke to Craig's mother earlier today, she says he is in a lot of pain but he is surviving. Jevandre is getting better, his Drs are happy with his progress, they will however be keeping him sedated for at least 24 - 48 hours (She told me this at about 13:00 today). I'll be away from home for this week, will try to keep you guys posted. thanks to all of you for your prayers!!!
  20. I was @ Craig's place earlier today, his recovering well, his dad had just come from visiting Jevandre, the swelling in his face is coming down which is a very good thing. Craig showed me his Garmin info: SHOCKING!!! Just before impact, they where going at about 14km/hr....just after impact his Garmin clocked 70km/hr!!!!!!!!!!! Craig got flung over the car and into the sloot on the side of the road, while Jevandre was laying in the yellow lane. Craig says the driver did not even attempt an emergency braking, it was just BANG!!!! into them They've got the construction workers and the supervisor as witnesses, so lets hope justice prevails I thank the Lord that they're both still alive! Lets keep the both of them in our prayers guys!
  21. What's even more sad is that it happened on the climb out of that dip by the strawberry farm. He cant even say the glare of the sun hampered his vision as it was midday He also had 2 lanes to pass them as they where in the shoulder out of his way, out of everyone's way for that matter!! Really *** if you ask me
  22. It happened on Polkadraai actually in the dip by the strawberry farm, they where cycling in the yellow lane when they where knocked from the back. The driver drove off but stopped and came back. He then told Craig " I had no where to go" this after the road has been newly surfaced and freshly painted(double carriage with yellow shoulder) Craig is ok, he says Jevandre is not looking to good though, please keep him in your prayers! Will pop in with Craig later today
