  1. Been eyeing those..full report especially wet weather please! As well as ease of access on the bike...seen some dislikes with the clipping system not able to secure it snugly??
  2. First Ascent's Lume Magneeto jacket is also OK...sleeves are removable....collapses into itself and tucks into back pocket quite easy...online...
  3. Right...I got no words for the droolness (new word) of this post!????
  4. I was waiting......????????, last shoe pic I posted had similar comments!???????? My Dad told me when I was in high school not to shave my legs just because I was in the swimming team cause it will just grow back thicker...shoulda listened...my lap times never improved anyway! I never shaved my back so I got no idea about that part!!????????Glad I didn't !!!!
  5. Reports I have read about the Velosamba is that if anything they are comfortable....they have a recycled nylon inner to improve stiffness...Don't think they will replace true gravel shoes but as a casual commute shoe that will walk well off the bike, they got style! and BTW, almost impossible to find already unless you pay premium on Ebay...and Adidas.com does not ship internationally so you gotta go thru all sorts of hoops to get them direct online.... if they even got your size! As for the Road Shoe (their name, not mine), they are really comfy, stiff and feel really close-fitting. Like the Velosamba, they also made from recycled products. Only thing I did notice is that the heel is a bit low so when you walk, they do tend to slide a bit so you got to go fairly tight with the laces at the end. Apparently they not too great in the wet cause they not as waterproof as traditional uppers made from closed cell material...these are that mesh/weave style, so you will get wet socks in a big down pour but I'm sure they will dry quick...same story for the Giro and Fizik woven ranges so there you go! Edit: for real gravel comfort and coolness look no further than the Rapha Explore....the originals, not the new Powerweave version...weave for anything offroad is not going to look great after few rides...seen reports of fraying, the toe boot is not protected or lined outside to protect against stone strikes, stick with leather uppers...
  6. ???? best I coulda done is change the tyres to slicks to make it more believable!! Cool kicks tho! Edit...guess these would have been more appropriate!
  7. Adidas is making road shoes again....Throwback.....
  8. Completed the last Argus on fixie with 48/16...perfect for all the climbs but could keep up downhill...actually unclipped a few times!
  9. DCRainmaker's take..... https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2021/05/wahoo-elemnt-bolt-v2-2021-with-color-screen-maps-a-review-in-progress.html
  10. Yoh! That valley pic is unreal, great composition and depth!
  11. Does of reality absorbed, however, we need to be just as outraged by this reported behaviour as we were with the incident involving Mr Dlamini. It's unacceptable no matter the frustration!
  12. Wow, more completely bonkers reports of riders acting outrageously and entitled....seriously????? If these are your friends you need to either have a chat with them or find new riding buddies! Hasn't there just been a massive fire here?........complaining about closures for maintenance!? BTW not referring to you TD....
  13. Wow! Sorry but that's F@%^$ d up!!! Never seen anything like that! Imagine going to such lengths to do this, that's sledge hammer work...I can't imagine Table Mountain authorities doing this...so someone decided to load up his car with heavy duty tools, lug them down the trail and then lay into the rocks with abandon! The mind boggles!
  14. If it is ie The Cork Tree trail, then I don't understand the logic...there's already a B line through both gardens....head scratch!
  15. Yip, pretty dope stuff....lucky guy...their Maxima's look the business as well!
  16. ???? ????pushed the boat out there with those brakes!!!! Tell us more about them.....
  17. Back to The Missing Link....this time with some suspension and real tyres! This may be "contour" trail but, man, what a workout....its actually a beast! Its either rocky, loose marbles or flat corners and icy fine gravel...nothing in between......spectacular scenery is a given and with the new lower level and its connectors, it's a real workout! A word of caution, there are some surprise A line choices on the lower Lobotomy Line that could end in tears...ride with caution... Oh and both upper and lower lines are closed well short of the original end at the battery above Llandudno...signs accompanied by big felled trees across the trail are clear and concise, ie don't be a dwees and ignore them, turn around and enjoy the ride back! Edit:
  18. Lac Du Atlantique...
  19. That "new" lower trail is awesome! TBH walked the last 100m part of the lower trail where it rejoins Bakoven at Ottawa Drive.... it's virtually unrideable loose stones and baby heads in a burnt out landscape...trail is hard to follow/find, I reckon even MTB will rattle your teeth loose! But the rest is sublime and some really nice hips and drops! Well worth the climb up from V Road! Need to get back there with some tyre width and suspension... Edit...I believe that this lower section is called Lobotomy!
  20. Had every intention sticking to the tar today...alas...the call of the wild is strong....
  21. A change is as good as a holiday... 20 years now on the wrist with the oyster bracelet, thought I would swap it out for some leather for a bit...still stunning and unbelievable that I own this...
  22. Wet 'n dry... Bitter and sweet... All sorts of Easter Sunday weather.....Cape Point return
  23. That caravan is a Sprite, 4 sleeper (1 x double that doubles as the dinner table, and 2 x bunk beds) Big opposition to us Jurgens vanners!....and that green station wagon at the back is a Chev Kommando...had a wind down window from the outside and the read door folded down....perfect tow for a Jurgens...we had a khaki one! Auto, steering wheel shift, straight 6....
  24. Awesome, well done sir and all others who assist....
