After losing two bikes (1 worth 25k) to midnight shoppers, I promised myself, next time, they will have to work hard for their money, no more free-bees. So my advice is....10mm angle iron bolted to the wall with break -off heads, a 15mm cable and a padlock with a SSF class 2 rating or higher (bolt cutter/angle grinder proof)

Phew, I guess it's time to "vote" in a new party!

30min of training/session for "the" mtb tour de France. Phew is all I can say. It all depends on your level of fitness and your "fat%" levels. If ur fit, go with intervals, if not...go slow and get some basic fitness first.

I think LX is the best value for money. Some people say Sram is not at smooth operating as shimano. If you buy a hardtail you dont need to spend more than 13 k , it wont make a performance diffrence .

I used to have gel in my saddle hehe, I just use good old windpomp cherry for rides under 2 hours anything longer I eat on the bike (fruit and samies)

I bought the smallest mtb frame I could fit into, but I made sure that when I got onto my mtb it felt like i'm on my road bike. (same distances btw parts) and I use the same saddle too. I would go second hand, if spending that kinda money, usually the bikes under 5k are only used as commuters, but if you really want to go new, Silverback is the best "cheap" option I think.

I would say take it to your LBS, unless you have the right tools to do the job. The tool you need to knock out the bearings looks like a pipe with flanges at the end. You can actually google all the info you need, but it takes time and hassels ))

Yip Crime pays in SA, even if you caught doing crime...the chances that your case gets to court is less than 10% and then if you are one of the unlucky 10%, only 20 % of those do actual time in jail.
